Janowice Wielkie
is a place picturesquely situated at the foot of Rudawy
Janowickie (a mountain range which is a part of the
Karkonosze Mountains), 15 km from Jelenia Góra, the
capital city of this part of the region.
Currently it is resided by 91 residents whom we provide with
the 24-hour maintenance, healthcare and wide range of
rehabilitation activities such as: activity therapy, “experience
of the world” room, the gym, and the computer room.
Numerous cultural, recreational and sports events as well as
excursions make the Home especially attractive and make us
distinguishable from the group of a similar profile
institutions.
The first references about Janowice date back to 1367,
which makes it one of the oldest settlements in
Karkonosze.
In the park adjacent to our Home you can not only stroll, but
also organize feasts, barbecues, bonfires (in the specially
separated and prepared area), or - in winter season – the
attractive sledge runs.
The CARE HOME situated here is located in the palatial and
manorial buildings built in 1608-1609 by Daniel von
Schaffgotsch.
Between years 1765-1945
the estate with the antique
park of 10 ha used to
belong to the aristocratic
family of Counts Graf von
Wernigerode.
Since 1952 the palace has been converted into the Care
Home for Intellectually Handicapped Men.
Thanks to friendly atmosphere as well as friendly attitude of
the employees our residents have found this place
a genuine family home. For the relatives and visitors visiting
them the accommodation may be provided in the guest-rooms
made available at the Home.
Everyone from Poland and abroad who would like to visit our
HOME or perhaps help achieve even a higher standard is
cordially welcome and invited.
The location of Home (the immediate neighbourhood of the
mountains) encourages also the strolls in the forest and in the
mountains.
We have two 9-seated coaches at the residents’ disposal.
