Vitogaz - CZAS NA GAZ!
Vitogaz Switzerland AG invites employees to an eco-training T HE FACT THAT DRIVING ON LPG CUTS THE CO2 PRODUCTION BY 15%, DECREASES THE EMISSION OF FINE PARTICLES, WHICH ARE HIGHLY DANGEROUS TO HEALTH, BY AS MUCH AS 90% AND ADDITIONALLY, CAN LOWER FUEL COSTS BY EVEN 50% SHOULD BE WELL-KNOWN BY NOW. HOWEVER, THE SWISS LIQUID GAS SUPPLIER VITOGAZ SWITZERLAND AG SHOWED THAT LPG’S ADVANTAGES TO BOTH OUR WALLETS AND THE ENVIRONMENT CAN BE EVEN HIGHER. The company invited most of its sales representatives, for the so-called “Eco Drive Day”, organized in Lignières, a driving training center run by the Swiss TCS (Touring Club Schweiz), in order to teach the sales reps the basics of modern mobility. The TCS have been committed to the subject of eco-mobility for a long time. Every year, shortly before the Geneva Motor Show, they publish a much anticipated list of environment-friendly vehicles, which is known to set trends among both automobile manufacturers and car buyers. And the TCS do not only promote emission decrease, but instead, they actively encourage drivers to curb the production of harmful substances in general and, by doing so, reduce fuel consumption, be it gasoline, LPG or diesel. Over 20 Vitogaz employees visited Lignières with their LPG-powered company cars to learn what actually everyone should know: early upshifting and a smooth, foresighted driving style are the best way to reduce fuel consumption and the costs. However, it was only after the individual reference drives at the beginning of the course and after the distinct analysis of all data that the desired aha! effect eventually kicked in: at the end of the course, Vitogaz employees could successfully put the TCS instructors’ tips into practice. According to the evaluations made by perfectly incorruptible measuring instruments installed in the cars, every single one of them managed to reduce LPG consumption by at least 10%, with some of them getting much better results. As one of the participants pointed out: “Over the years, every driver adopts his personal driving style, which he of course considers the right one. It’s only when you’re confronted with accurate measurements showing that with just a few adjustments you can drive a lot more efficiently that you become willing to accept these suggestions and start to drive more consciously in the future.” However, in order to get some tips on how to drive in an energy-saving, environment-friendly way, one doesn’t have to go to Switzerland. For instance, the German ADAC automobile club offers such fuel saving training programs, which are aimed at eco-conscious businesses which converted their vehicle fleets to LPG and want to increase their employees’ eco-mobility awareness. And besides, participating in the Eco Drive training wasn’t a bad deal at allfor Vitogaz Switzerland AG. As their fleet park manager put it: “If the fuel costs are reduced by 10% over the course of six months, the investment in the training will surely pay off .” And perhaps the effects of the training will last longer than that. Wolfgang Kröger J AZDA NA AUTOGAZIE ZMNIEJSZA ŚREDNIO O 15% EMISJĘ CO2, REDUKUJĄC NIEBEZPIECZNE DLA ZDROWIA CZĄSTECZKI PYŁÓW O 90% ORAZ DODATKOWO OBNIŻA KOSZTY PALIWA DO 50%. Jednak dopiero indywidualne jazdy i dokładne analizy wszystkich danych przyniosły końcowe wnioski – bez wyjątku, wszyscy współpracownicy firmy Vitogaz mogliby przy konsekwentnym stosowaniu wskazówek TCS zaoszczędzić przynajmniej 10% LPG.
