The Work of St. Mary of Czestochowa Parish - A Quiet Gift
The work of our parishes doesn’t usually make the front
pages. Few would describe it as earth shattering. It is quiet
work. It touches one soul at a time. At St. Mary of Czestochowa Parish, imperfect people grow closer to God every
day. Community is formed here. Whether through daily
celebration of the Eucharist or dinner delivered to the
home of a grieving family, God’s love is quietly made
manifest here. We have a good thing going here, a very

Children’s Christmas Concert

Christmas Concert to be held in
the church at 7PM on Friday evening, December 15, 2006. The children are working very
hard to prepare a most enjoyable time for all.
They are certain that you will leave with a true
spirit of Christmas after the concert.

Our Lady of Guadalupe (Feastday - December 12)
When we reflect on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe we learn two important lessons, one of faith
and one of understanding.
Missionaries who first came to Mexico with the
conquistadors had little success in the beginning.
After nearly a generation, only a few hundred Native
Mexicans had converted to the Christian faith.
Whether they simply did not understand what the
missionaries had to offer or whether they resented
these people who made them slaves, Christianity
was not popular among the native people.
Then in 1531 miracles began to happen. Jesus' own mother appeared to
humble Juan Diego. The signs -- of the roses, of the uncle miraculously cured
of a deadly illness, and especially of her beautiful image on Juan's mantle -convinced the people there was something to be considered in Christianity.
Within a short time, six million Native Mexicans had themselves baptized as
Christians.
The first lesson is that God has chosen Mary to lead us to Jesus. . The
second lesson we take from Mary herself. Mary appeared to Juan Diego not
as a European madonna but as a beautiful Aztec princess speaking to him in
his own Aztec language. If we want to help someone appreciate the gospel we
bring, we must appreciate the culture and the mentality in which they live their
lives. By understanding them, we can help them to understand and know
Christ. Our Lady of Guadalupe is patron of the Americas.

All interested parishioners are invited to attend a meeting on Friday, December 15, 2006 in Makuch at 7PM to help to plan our
parish English Lenten Mission. Fr. Robert Halter, CSsR, the Mission Director will be present to discuss procedures for the Lenten
Mission. Fr. Halter, is presently ministering at St. Michael’s Parish
in Chicago, IL. We welcome him to our parish and look forward to
participating in a prayerful Lenten Mission.

palabra de Dios a Juan, hijo de Zacarías, en el desierto. Y se fue por toda la región del Jordán proclamando un bautismo de conversión para perdón de los
pecados, como está escrito en el libro de los oráculos
del profeta Isaías: Voz del que clama en el desierto:

Było to w piętnastym roku rządów Tyberiusza Cezara. Gdy Poncjusz Piłat był namiestnikiem Judei, Herod tetrarchą Galilei, brat
jego Filip tetrarchą Iturei i kraju Trachonu,
Lizaniasz tetrarchą Abileny; za najwyższych
kapłanów Annasza i Kajfasza skierowane
zostało słowo Boże do Jana, syna Zachariasza, na pustyni. Obchodził więc całą okolicę
nad Jordanem i głosił chrzest nawrócenia
dla odpuszczenia grzechów, jak jest napisane w księdze mów proroka Izajasza: Głos
wołającego na pustyni: Przygotujcie drogę
Panu, prostujcie ścieżki dla Niego! Każda
dolina niech będzie wypełniona, każda góra
i pagórek zrównane, drogi kręte niech się
staną prostymi, a wyboiste drogami gładkimi! I wszyscy ludzie ujrzą zbawienie Boże.

Adwentowe
Informujemy, że 17-go grudnia, III niedziela adwentu,
rozpoczną się rekolekcje adwentowe w naszej parafii. Rekolekcje będzie prowadził O. Jacek Białas - Redemptorysta pracujący w Argentynie. Rekolekcje trwać będą do środy 20-go grudnia.
Serdecznie zapraszamy do udziału w rekolekcjach.

Chcielibyśmy poinformować że jeśli ktoś
jest w wieku siedemdziesięciu i pół roku
lub starszy i otrzymuje opodatkowane
IRA tzw. „Taxable IRA distribution” może
w pełni odpisać od podatków charytatywną donację do $100,000. Jest to możliwe o ile ta
suma jest dodana do dochodu całkowitego na formie
podatkowej. Donacja ta może być wielokrotna o ile nie
przekracza limitu $ 100,000.

przez naszą Archidiecezję Chicago

świątecznych z okazji nadchodzących świąt Bożego

wyjściu z kościoła.
Opłatki
Na naszym wigilijnym stole nie może
zabraknąć tradycyjnego, polskiego,
opłatka. Tradycja ta wpisana jest
bardzo głęboko w naszą kulturę, historię i sposób przeżywania Świąt
Bożego Narodzenia.
Opłatki można przy wyjściu z kościoła po każdej Mszy Świętej.
