Prince Puckler’s Park is located within the town of
Bad Muskau. In previous times, the Market Place
served as a main entrance to the park. This entrance
has been diminished in importance, so it is important
to redesign the Market Place to connect people with
the park and as a destination in itself.
The existing plaza and surroundings have been analysed. This design proposes to reshape the plaza creating one well-defined space. This reshaping will allow a rich texture of experience, giving the sense of
space, and adding new events for people, providing
the basis of the concept for the marketplace. Parking
places have been relocated to the main street in order
to maintain the plaza for people.
New vegetation, a water surface, and other elements
are introduced. On the axis to the park some places
have been created for human uses such as small shops
and a green area for hotel guests.

Special events such as like markets on special days,
concerts and cinemas, along with outdoor bars and
cafes have been introduced. The design of the plaza
includes a row of trees to provide separation for the
adjacent housing.
Finally, with new activity and the linkage through to
the park, the Market Square will again become a lively
and attractive marketplace.

Muskaus. Früher diente der Marktplatz als Hauptzugang zum Park, es ist wichtig, ihm diese Funktion
wiederzugeben und den Marktplatz selbst zu einem
Anziehungspunkt zu machen.
Park Pücklera leży w pewnym sensie w samym
centrum Bad Muskau. Dawniej główne dojście do
Parku prowadziło przez rynek, ważne więc byłoby
przywrócenie mu tej funkcji, a sam rynek winien
również zyskać na atrakcyjności.
Diese Gestaltungsalternative sieht vor, den Marktplatz zu einem klar definierten Raum umzuformen.
Die Umformung wird es ermöglichen, den Platz mit
einem abwechlsungsreichen Muster zu überziehen
und diesen Freiraum für vielfältige Nutzung zur
Verfügung zu stellen. Die Parkplätze werden an die
Hauptstraße verlegt, um den Platz für Menschen
freizuhalten.

stworzenie zeń jasno ograniczonej przestrzeni. Sprawi
to, że na rynku pojawi się zróżnicowany wzór oraz
można będzie różnorodnie użytkować jego
przestrzeń. Miejsca parkingowe przeniesione zostaną
na Hauptstraße, by przestrzeń rynku pozostała dla
ludzi. Rynek wyposażony zostanie w nowe elementy
– rośliny, powierzchnię wodną oraz inne elementy
łączące. Zaplanowano stworzenie nowych sklepów,
a także skwerku przed hotelem.
Der Platz erhält neue Funktionen und neue Elemente
wie Pflanzen, eine Wasserfläche und weitere verbindende Elemente wurden hinzugefügt. Auf dem
Weg sind neue Läden und eine Grünfläche zur
Nutzung durch das Hotel geplant.
Die Wohnbebauung wird durch eine Baumreihe
abge-schirmt. Auf dem Markt sind Wochen- und
Themenmärkte, Freiluftkino, Konzerte und Festivitäten geplant. So bekommt dieser Platz wieder einen
Stadtplatzcharakter und wird außerdem zu einem
besseren Eingang zum Schloßpark und einer guten
Verbindung zum Bergpark.
Domy mieszkalne zostaną osłonięte szeregiem
drzew. Na rynku odbywać się będzie cotygodniowy targ i targi tematyczne, będzie tu miejsce na kino
na wolnym powietrzu, koncerty oraz festyny. W ten
sposób rynek uzyska ponownie miejski charakter,
stanowić będzie rodzaj dojścia do parku pałacowego,
a także połączenie z parkiem górskim.
