PROPOSAL NAME: ALIAS - Advanced Large-scale Image and Audio Services (working title)
SUBJECT: The goal of ALIAS is the development of content and context based audio and image search
mechanisms and their integration into given applications by specific service providers, thus enhancing the value of
the service offered to the end-user. The work will focus on the semantic enrichment of web-search, going towards
location-aware cross-media web retrieval. The specific concerns of content providers as well as service providers,
from a technical and from a business point of view, will be important points to consider.

Krótka informacja o projekcie poniżej:
The main goal of FOSTER project is to make technology, engineering and scientific studies and career attractive to
young people. In order to achieve the above mentioned goal, following project objectives are defined:
- to study the perception of boys and girls on science, engineering and technology studies;
- to raise the awareness of boys and girls on science, engineering and technology studies;
- to make boys and girls acquainted with the opportunities of the research career, and in particular its international
dimension, and to improve their recognition of science and scientific career;
- to launch a dialogue between different stakeholders on the prospects for attracting young people to embark on a
research career.

search engine.
SUBJECT: This proposal addresses the research and implementation of an innovative online web service, which
will provide the methodology and the tool for matching the vast universe of RSS feeds with the need for knowledge
of professional researchers such as information librarians, analysts, journalists etc. The system will be able to cover
thematically and contextually the available information and distribute it to the right user.

PROPOSAL NAME: P2PCastonomy: Research and Implementation of a multilingual and multicultural Web 2.0
social-semantic search engine For Delivering live multimedia web casts through decentralised peer-to-peer selfpublishing content
SUBJECT: The ultimate target of the online web service is to treat decentralised multimedia web content
(video/audio/image content from blog sites) as peronalised and democratised channels of content distribution. The
service will be able to retrieve the unstructured tags of users’ self-publishing systems and semantically weave these
non hierarchical annotations, forming structure thematic hierarchies viewed by users as Channels.

2. Możliwość uzyskania 50% dofinansowania udziału w spotkaniach kooperacyjnych IST (Information
Society Technologies), Budapeszt, 15-16 lutego 2006
Wrocławskie Centrum Transferu Technologii (WCTT) Politechniki Wrocławskiej serdecznie zaprasza firmy i
instytucje zainteresowane udziałem w projektach europejskich z priorytetu IST (Information Society Technologies)
do wzięcia udziału w spotkaniach kooperacyjnych. Impreza odbędzie się 16 lutego 2006r. w Budapeszcie i będzie
okazją do rozmów z zagranicznymi firmami, poznania przyszłych partnerów i nawiązania międzynarodowej
współpracy. Konsorcjum projektu IST-BONUS, w którym WCTT jest partnerem, dofinansuje Państwa udział w
wysokości 50% ceny dojazdu i zakwaterowania.
Chętnych zapraszamy również na dzień informacyjny poprzedzający spotkania kooperacyjne (15 luty, Budapeszt) i
dotyczący wsparcia udziału w projektach europejskich, 7 Programu Ramowego oraz obecnego, szóstego
(ostatniego!) konkursu IST w 6 Programie Ramowym. Podczas imprezy eksperci przedstawią przykładowe projekty
oraz opowiedzą jak budować konsorcjum i napisać dobry wniosek. Językiem obowiązującym będzie angielski.

W załączeniu przesyłam informację dotyczącą tegorocznej edycji Preparatory Action for Security Research (PASR2006).
“In the first days of February, the European Commission will publish the third and final Call for Proposals of the
Preparatory Action for Security Research (PASR-2006). The call has a budget of 15 Meuro and will be open
until early May. Detailed information for the submission of proposals will be made available on
http://www.cordis.lu/security/.
The Commission will also offer a dedicated information event to interested parties on 21 February 2006, soon after
publication of the call. It will be included in the "Conference on Security Research" in Vienna on 20-21 February
2006 (http://www.bmvit.gv.at/src), and it will provide an opportunity to get first hand information from the
European Commission representatives - both on its scope and objectives as well as on the participation rules.
