RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a process established by the Church for
individuals to become Catholic and receive the Sacraments of Initiation-Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. If you wish to become Catholic, or are a Baptized Catholic in
need of making your First Communion and/or Confirmation, please call the Religious
Education Office.

Discipleship: We are all called to participate in the mission
of the Church which will last until the end of the word. This is
not a demand but an invitation of Jesus’. If we accept this invitation, we gain peace of conscience and eternal reward. If we
reject it, we compromise our Catholic identity and endanger
our salvation.
The Gospel provides instructions on how to handle our mission and therefore we have to use our resources wisely. (the
parable of the rich and fool) Luke 12, 13:21 We have to sometimes learn to distinguish our needs from our wants. St. Paul 1
Timothy 6:10.
“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish;
but what good are these for so many?” The miracle of the
Loaves and Fishes is the only miracle which is recorded six
times in the Gospel. It carries two important messages. First,
no matter how little we have, we always have enough to share.
Second, Christ can take our humble gifts and do great things
with them if we are just willing to let Him.
God cares for those who share their first fruits with others
with open heart and open hand.

and you give them their food in due season. - Psalm 145:15
FEEDING THE WORLD
With today’s two accounts of feeding
miracles and the psalm response about the
Lord’s hand feeding us, it is easy to gloss
over the marvelous hymn in Ephesians. It
is built around the most potent biblical
numbers: one, three, and seven. The core of it is the word
“one” expressed seven times. Three of these describe the
church: one body, one Spirit, one hope; the next three are the
foundations of the church: one Lord [Jesus], one faith, one
baptism. All of these are bound up together in the one Father
of all. While we might feel daunted by the prospect of duplicating the wonders worked by Elisha and Jesus in the feeding
of multitudes, Ephesians gives us a more realistic way to live
and “feed: others as the church: by living in humility and gentleness, by acting with patience, bearing with each other in love
and always seeking and striving to preserve unity through
peace. Who among us cannot increase the way we “feed” the
church and the world by living this way? We are always called
upon to “feed” the world in the literal sense; but our mission as
church tells us that others are also fed by the way we live and
act each moment of each day.
Next week’s second collection will be designated
for our parish obligations to the Diocese.
SAINT ANNE SOCIETY
We welcome members of the Saint Anne Society to the
9:00am Liturgy this Sunday. New members will be inducted
into the Society during Mass followed by coffee and . . . and a
brief meeting in the school cafeteria.

NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
Here at St. Joseph Basilica, we have the opportunity each
Wednesday at 7:00pm to participate and spread the good news
for the intention of our Patron. This Wednesday, July 29th the
Holy Rosary Sodality will assist in carrying the statue of St.
Joseph into the Sanctuary.
We invite you to join us with friends and family and write
your requests on the provided petition slips to be read during
the Novena. Your offering is appreciated.
FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO
If you haven’t joined our fervent bingo fans as yet, Friday,
July 31st would be the perfect time to check out the suspense
and excitement of participating in our weekly games. We offer
light snacks, pastry and free coffee together with the opportunity to meet new people, reminisce with old friends and have
the chance of winning some extra cash.
The Home School Association/school parents will assist our
players during the games. Proceeds benefit St. Joseph School.
Please mark your calendar - to join us on Sunday, August 2 at
3:00pm to pray the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy. We ask you
to make a special effort to participate in meditation and Benediction.
The most important and fundamental ingredient of this devotion is complete confidence and trust in Jesus. Please take advantage of this opportunity to receive special graces from our
Lord.

Grade 8. Our Pre-k program is most affordable for everyone
and helps the child in social and psychological development. A

NATIONAL DAY OF ST. JOHN PAUL II
On Saturday, October 17th, there will be a National Day of
Celebration for St. John Paul II at his Shrine, and former JPII
Cultural Center in Washington DC.

In the Gospel, Jesus supersedes both the apostles’ and the
crowds’ expectations: with little he feeds many . . . Jesus is the
sign of God’s lavish presence and love. Your donation to the
Society of St. Vincent de Paul is indeed a sign of God’s
extravagant love to the lonely and the poor.
This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de

Don’t stop dating. - One reason for the feelings of
closeness in the beginning of a couple’s relationship is that they
spend most of their time together doing fun things. It’s
important to keep having date nights, sharing activities and
going for occasional getaways without the kids. And these
don’t have to break a couple’s budget. A date could be playing
a game together or curling up on the couch to watch a dollar
movie rental. Make sure you both take the initiative to plan

Registration for your son/daughter for the 2015-2016 school
year is continuing. The fee for one child is $35 and $55 for two
or more children. Early registration is suggested for planning
purposes. Forms are available at the entrances of the church or
in the sacristy.

The fee for Confirmation classes is $60 per student. A schedule

każde nasze pragnienie zostanie na tym świecie spełnione, ale

RELIGIA
Już teraz prosimy o zapisywanie dzieci na katechizacje w
przyszłym roku szkolnym. Opłata wynosi $35 za jedno dziecko
oraz $55 za dwoje lub więcej dzieci. Wcześniej zapisy
pozwalają nam na lepsze zaplanowanie pracy na następny rok.
Prosimy również zapisywać młodzież na przygotowanie do
Sakramentu Bierzmowania.

Nie kończyć narzeczeństwa – Jednym z powodów

Najbliższe Światowe Dni Młodzieży będą obchodzone
w dniach 19 lipca do 3 sierpnia w Krakowie. Koszt wyjazdu
$2500 od osoby pokrywa przelot i zakwaterowanie w dwulub trzyosobowych pokojach, trzy posiłki dziennie. Przy
zapisie depozyt $500. Pozostałą kwotę należy wpłacić do 31
