Jesus in Disguise.” The collection provides an opportunity to change the lives
of more than 100 million people at home
and abroad, particularly families affected

OUTREACH PROGRAM
In less than two weeks Spring will have sprung.
That means we cannot have snow…or, at least,
it should mean that.
Somewhere in my
memory I seem to remember snow on Easter
Sunday but I must be mistaken.
If you are looking for a little more to do for Lent
and to help the poor, the Outreach will be
happy to take any food items you would like to
donate. We are running low on pop-top cans
of fruit and stews as well as cold cereal and
shelf milk.
We are back to our Healthy Sundays. On
March 15th, a/k/a the Ides of March, we will be
hosting the nurses from Catholic Health
Services to give a free health screening to
anyone interested. This will include a check of
your blood pressure, height, weight and Body
Mass Index. The hours that they will be with
us is in the school building are from 10:00 a.m.
to 1:30 p.m. and there will be translators for
both Spanish and Polish present. As per usual,
there is no charge or insurance involved. Just
to make this check-up more enticing, have I
mentioned that there will be refreshments
served by the CHS?

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP
St. Mary’s Parish in East Islip is offering a free
support group for adults who are struggling to
cope with the death of a loved one. Registration
is required for this group, which begins Wednesday, April 8th, from 7:00PM until 9:00PM. Refreshments included. For additional information

przeznaczany na pomoc ludziom dotkniętym prześladowaniami, wojnami oraz klęskami żywiołowymi.

INTENCJE MSZALNE
Przyjmujemy intencje na Msze św. na rok 2015. Ofiara
za intencję wynosi $15. Intencje należy zamawiać
w kancelarii parafialnej w godzinach pracy. Nie przyjmujemy intencji przez telefon.
Można również uczcić pamięć swoich bliskich poprzez
złożenie donacji na Eucharystyczny Chleb i Wino na
wybrany tydzień . ($50) : w intencji osób żyjących
(z okazji rocznicy, urodzin lub w intencji dziękczynnej)
lub w intencji osób zmarłych.
Osoba mówiąca po polsku dyżuruje w kancelarii parafialnej w środy wieczorem w godz: 19:30-21:00 oraz w

PROGRAM POMOCY SOCJALNEJ - OUTREACH
W tym tygodniu potrzebujemy płatków zbożowych
/kukurydzianych do jedzenia na zimno, mleka
niewymagającego przechowywania w lodówce, w
puszkach (z otwieraczem zamocowanym na
wieczku): owoców i gulaszu oraz wszelkich innych
produktów spożywczych, jakie mogliby nam
Państwo ofiarować dla najbardziej potrzebujących
rodzin /osób z naszej wspólnoty.

Z niezależnej inicjatywy grupy Polaków z Long Island na terenie naszej parafii stanie pomnik
papieża św. Jana Pawła II. Zebrano już około 20
tys. dolarów. Szacowane całkowite koszty rzeźby,
transportu i instalacji to około 30 tys. dolarów.
Osoby, które chciałyby włączyć się w to dzieło,
mogą składać ofiary do 15 marca 2015 r. na
parafię z dopiskiem „Pomnik Jana Pawła II” lub
„Statue of John Paul II”. Czeki należy wypisywać
na: “Our Lady of the Assumption Church” lub “OLA
Church”.

God So Loved the World . . .
These words are from today’s Gospel
acclamation. In the first reading, we hear the
Commandments God gave to the Jewish people
through Moses. If we think about them carefully
we can see that each one leads us to love. If
everyone gave God the glory he is due, if no-one
killed or stole or lied about another, what a
loving world this would be!
. . . that he gave his only son . . .
Are we truly aware of the greatness of
this gift? Do we value this gift enough that we
choose to obey each of the commandments? And
are we fully convinced of what this gift means for
each of us?
. . . so that everyone who believes in him
might have ETERNAL LIFE.
We who are blessed enough to have the
Eucharist as part of our lives are already
enjoying this Eternal Life promised us. Let us be
aware of this each time we celebrate Mass. Let it
be the most important hour of our week, one
that we look forward to and prepare for.
Only this I want
