ADORATION
AND
BENEDICTION:
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place every
Saturday morning in the lower church from 8:00AM to
9:00AM. Come at any time during this Holy Hour to pray
in the presence of the Eucharistic Lord. Benediction takes
place at 8:50 AM.

2014 MISSION APPEAL - THANK YOU
INDIAN SUMMER PARISH PICNIC - OUR FAREWELL
TO SUMMER
Come join fellow parishioners and
friends for a picnic to be held on Sunday, September 28th in the small parking lot and the rectory’s backyard beginning after the 9:00AM Mass. You
will be able to purchase a variety of delicious food prepared by our parishioners, music, and
games for the children. There will also be a drawing for a
variety of attractive prizes.
MOVE TO UPPER CHURCH
Now that summer has come to an end, we will be moving our weekend Masses to the upper church. This move
will occur on Sunday, October 5th. The 5:00PM Saturday
Mass will continue to be held in the lower church.
OPEN HOUSE
 Bishop Kearny High School will host its annual Open
House on Thursday, October 23rd form 6:00PM to
7:30PM, and again on Sunday, October 26th, from
1:00PM to 3:00PM. The school is located at 60th
Street and Bay Parkway. All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
girls and their parents are encouraged to attend. To

 Xaverian (TACHS #011) will hold its annual Open
House on Sunday, October 19th, from 10:00AM to

DIRECTION
Isaiah tells us something that we already know, and yet
seem to forget every now and then. He tells us,
essentially, that God is God and we are not. When we’re
confused and troubled and can’t figure everything out, it
might be wise to recall Isaiah speaking on the Lord’s
behalf and explaining that God -who is on a much more,
well, Godly wavelength than we are - moves in ways we
can’t even imagine.
Saint Paul, by comparison, has everything figured out.
Kind of. At least he understands his calling in life - to
magnify Christ in everything he does. That should give all
of us the direction we need. Jesus gives us direction, too,
explaining to us once again in the parable of the workers
in the vineyard that the last will be first, and the first, last.

FEAST OF FAITH
Doxology and Amen
“Doxology” comes from a Greek word meaning
“words of praise.” The Eucharistic Prayer ends with a
doxology addressed to the triune God: “Through him,
with him, in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory
and honor is yours, almighty Father, for ever and ever.” It
is an exclamation of praise, honor, and glory to God,
reminding us that we receive everything from God
through the Son, in the power of the Spirit. At the
consecration, the priest held up the host and then the
chalice for us to see and adore. During the doxology, the
host and chalice are held up again, but this time they are
held up and offered to God the Father. With the doxology,
the Eucharistic Prayer ends, as it began, with words of
praise addressed to the Father: truly, it is right and just to
give God praise, and we assent to this in our wholehearted acclamation, “Amen.” Never was more meaning
packed into so short a word. This “Amen,” sometimes and
fittingly called “the great Amen,” is our response to the
entire Eucharistic Prayer.

XXV NIEDZIELA OKRESU ZWYKŁEGO
Szukajcie Pana, gdy się pozwala znaleźć, wzywajcie

Izajasz 55,6-9
Królestwo niebieskie podobne jest do gospodarza,
który wyszedł wczesnym rankiem, aby nająć robotników
do swej winnicy. Umówił się z robotnikami o denara za
dzień i posłał ich do winnicy. Gdy wyszedł około godziny
trzeciej, zobaczył innych, stojących na rynku bezczynnie, i
rzekł do nich: Idźcie i wy do mojej winnicy, a co będzie
słuszne, dam wam. Oni poszli. Wyszedłszy ponownie
około godziny szóstej i dziewiątej, tak samo uczynił. Gdy
wyszedł około godziny jedenastej, spotkał innych
stojących i zapytał ich: Czemu tu stoicie cały dzień
bezczynnie? Odpowiedzieli mu: Bo nas nikt nie najął.
Rzekł im: Idźcie i wy do winnicy! A gdy nadszedł wieczór,
rzekł właściciel winnicy do swego rządcy: Zwołaj
robotników i wypłać im należność, począwszy od
ostatnich aż do pierwszych! Przyszli najęci około
jedenastej godziny i otrzymali po denarze. Gdy więc
przyszli pierwsi, myśleli, że więcej dostaną; lecz i oni
otrzymali po denarze. Wziąwszy go, szemrali przeciw
gospodarzowi, mówiąc: Ci ostatni jedną godzinę
pracowali, a zrównałeś ich z nami, którzyśmy znosili
ciężar dnia i spiekoty. Na to odrzekł jednemu z nich:
Przyjacielu, nie czynię ci krzywdy; czy nie o denara
umówiłeś się ze mną? Weź, co twoje i odejdź! Chcę też i
temu ostatniemu dać tak samo jak tobie. Czy mi nie wolno
uczynić ze swoim, co chcę? Czy na to złym okiem
patrzysz, że ja jestem dobry? Tak ostatni będą
pierwszymi, a pierwsi ostatnimi.

REFLEKSJA NAD CZYTANIAMI NIEDZIELNYMI...
W świecie naznaczonym pogonią za pieniądzem
z jednej strony, a ludzkimi lękami i dramatami z drugiej,
Ewangelia przypomina nam przypowieść o gospodarzu,
który dbał o swoją winnicę, ale jeszcze bardziej troszczył
się o ludzi, których zatrudniał. Jego postawa uderza
w nasze wyrachowane sposoby myślenia o Bogu
i świecie. Przypomina nam o Ojcu, który kocha i obdarza
każdego nie według zasług, ale według pełni swego
miłosiernego serca. Jest to dla nas, chrześcijan, źródłem
nadziei a zarazem wyzwaniem do podobnego sposobu
myślenia i postępowania.

DIRECCIÓN
Isaías nos dice algo que ya sabemos, pero que
parecemos olvidar de tanto en tanto. Nos dice, en esencia,
que Dios es Dios y nosotros no lo somos. Cuando estamos
confundidos, llenos de problemas y no podemos
solucionarlo todo, tal vez sea sabio recordar a Isaías
(alguien que está más en la sintonía divina que nosotros)
hablando en nombre del Señor y explicando que Dios se
mueve de maneras que ni siquiera podemos imaginar.
En comparación, san Pablo lo ha resuelto todo. Casi
todo. Cuando menos entiende su llamado en esta vida:
dar gloria a Cristo en todo lo que hace. Esto debería
marcar el rumbo para nosotros. Jesús también nos marca
el camino, explicándonos una vez más en la parábola de
los viñadores que los últimos serán los primeros, y que los
primeros serán los últimos.

PICNIC DE PARROQUIA - DESPEDIDA AL VERANO
El domingo, septiembre 28, despues de la misa de las
9:00am, se dará un picnic similar a la Fiesta de Santa
Rosa de Lima que se dió en agosto. Esto se dará en el
estacionamiento pequeňo, y detrás de la rectoria. Otra
vez, habrán comidas de varias partes del mundo. Por
favor, vengan a disfrutar con nosotros.
