Tematyka prac dyplomowych Filologii angielskiej

Zakres
seminarium
obejmuje:
językoznawstwo
stosowane,
psycholingwistykę
i dydaktykę nauczania języka obcego. Tematyka prac może dotyczyć następujących
aspektów:
1. Dwujęzyczność i wielojęzyczność dzieci i dorosłych: nauka języka przez dziecko
w rodzinie dwujęzycznej, imigracja a nauka języka; interkulturowość.
2. Dydaktyka nauczania języka obcego: uczenie się/ nauczanie języka obcego
w różnych grupach wiekowych: (przedszkole, szkoła, młodzież dorośli, seniorzy);
Nauczanie umiejętności i podsystemów języka, poprawa błędów, oczekiwania
uczących się wobec nauczyciela, multimedia w nauce języka, nauczanie języka
specjalistycznego.
3. Czynniki
indywidualne
w
przekonania, samoocena,
nauce
języka
obcego
(dysfunkcje,
motywacja,
pamięć, lęki, emocje); autonomiczność i wybory
studentów kierunków neofilologicznych.

problemy tłumaczeniowe - w zakresie tekstów specjalistycznych

These topics are supposed to be treated as ideas that you can tailor according to your
own interests. They include two areas: language acquisition and lexicography.
a dictionary of sports vocabulary, e.g. MMA, football, basketball, etc.;
a dictionary of music areas, disciplines, instruments, etc.;
a dictionary of neologisms such as e.g. trawing and łomżing in the Polish
commercials;
a dictionary of borrowings from English in modern Polish (Polglish), e.g sweet
focia;
a dictionary of Polglish for Special Purposes - borrowings from English in other
disciplines, e.g. advertising, banking, law, crime and car mechanics;
first language acquisition in children (preferably a multilingual child), e.g.
describe one month of a child’s language development;
second language acquisition in children, teenagers or adults (how a person
acquires a foreign language), e.g. describe one aspect of the phonetic, syntactic,
lexical or morphological aspect of the languages in the speakers linguistic
repertoire;
analysing the speech or singing in Polish with a foreign accent, e.g. Joanna
Krupa.

conceptual metaphors, metonymy, cognitive blends, image-schemas, multimodal
metaphors, metaphors in discourse, metaphoric framing);
Language of emotions (Fear metaphors);
Language of manipulation;
Aspects of axiology (the study of values);
Aspects of ethnolinguistics;
Aspects of sociolinguistics;
Figurative language (e.g. similes);
Paremiology (the study of proverbs and sayings; could be the basis for
comparative studies between English and Polish);
Language versus culture.

Anglo-Saxon mythology (traces of early Germanic beliefs in literature, art and
folklore, comparison with other mythologies etc.);
Middle English literature (Geoffrey Chaucer The Canterbury Tales, William
Langland Piers Plowman, medieval drama etc.);
Arthurian literature (Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Thomas Malory Morte
Darthur, Alfred Tennyson Idylls of the King etc.);
Historical and medieval-inspired novels (Walter Scott, Robert Graves, Rosemary
Sutcliff, Bernard Cornwell etc.);
Arthurian art (medieval representations of King Arthur and his knights,
nineteenth-century revival of interest in Arthurian legends etc.);
Fantasy literature (J.R.R. Tolkien The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings etc., George
R.R. Martin A Song of Ice and Fire);
Historical films and TV series depicting the Middle Ages (The Kingdom of
Heaven, The Pillars of the Earth etc.);
Elizabethan and Jacobean drama (William Shakespeare esp. Macbeth and
Hamlet, Christopher Marlowe esp. Doctor Faustus).
