ST. MARY’S WOMEN’S CLUB NEWS
We will have a Pajama Party on Wednesday, January 18th-our first meeting of 2006!
Wear your PJ;s and be ready to relive girlhood, fun, and games! In addition to the
regular “food” raffle item, also bring 3
wrapped $1 gifts for game prizes.
This month we will sponsor our Orphanage Clothing Drive. We
need gently-used items for infants through teens. New socks
and undergarments will also be appreciated. Parishioners may
drop off donations at the Social Center on Wednesday, Jan 18th
from 4pm until 9PM. Our meeting will begin at 7pm.
Religious Education
Parents of students that attend Religious
Education classes are invited to come to
their child’s classroom at 9:00am on Saturday, January 28, 2006 to receive the
report card and to discuss their child’s
progress with the catechist. Classes will
begin at the regular time - 8am for the
students. Parent/Catechist conferences will begin at 9am.
Students will be allowed to leave the classroom with their
parents at the end of the conference. Parents of students that
will receive First Holy Communion this year are reminded that
they must submit the child’s Baptismal Certificate at this time
or as soon as possible in the near future.
Welcome Fr. Thomas Zielinski
Fr. Thomas Zielinski was born on December 20th,
1976 in Dabrowa Tarnowska (a town located in the
southern part of Poland). His parents live on a small
farm and make a living farming in a village called
Nieczajna Dolna. He was brought up in a religious
and practicing Catholic family. Fr. Thomas recognized that he had a vocation to the monastic life before he graduated from high school. He first felt that
God was calling him while attending a retreat for
high school graduates in Cracow. In 1996, he joined
the Redemptorist Order. On August 15th, 2002, he
professed his perpetual vows, and a year later he was
ordained a priest in Tuchow, Poland by the Most
Reverend Bishop Peter Libera. During his first two
years of the priesthood, he worked at a parish in Elblag, Poland where he was a catechist at the elementary school and the junior high school. He also was
in charge of the altar boys and readers and provided
ministry to children’s groups. Since July of last year,
Fr. Thomas was transferred to Chicago to St. Mary of
Czestochowa Parish in Cicero to serve as one of the
Associate Pastors. His priestly motto comes from
Saint Paul’s First Letter to the Thessalonians:
"Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In every circumstance give thanks".

The next NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2006. This meeting will be held at Woodbine School.
PARISH CHRISTMAS CONCERT
On Sunday, January 8, 2006, the St. Mary’s Choir and the
School Children’s Choir were part of the parish concert held in
our church. Their beautiful rendition of Christmas Carols was
enjoyed by all in attendance. Congratulations to all the members
of the choirs and to Witold Socha, our parish organist, for preparing the concert. It was a beautiful end to the Christmas season!

GUSTAVO REYES! The Parents’ Club is most grateful to all
who supported the Car Raffle! Ticket sales amounted to $5,953 ;
however, after expenses to make certain that the car was in tiptop shape ,a total profit of $5,164.36 was realized!

ATTENTION: CONFIRMATION MEETING!
On Monday, January 30, 2006 a meeting
for all parents of students that will receive
the sacrament of Confirmation in May,
2006 will be held in the school hall beginning at 6:30pm. It is mandatory that at
least one parent is present at this meeting. All of the information you will need concerning your child’s reception of
the sacrament of Confirmation will be issued at this time.
Please reserve the date of MONDAY, JANUARY 30TH on
your calendar. All parents of 8th grade students attending

Religious Education Confirmation Class must attend this

Pre-registration is now going on for the Fall term of
the 2006 school year. School office hours are 7am to
3pm on any school day. An OPEN HOUSE in the
school is scheduled for Saturday, January 28, 2006.

Sunday, February 5, 2006 A SPECIAL DAY FOR OUR PARISH!
St. Gianna Beretta Molla's Cause for Canonization:
The two events, that the Congregation of the Cause of
the Saints has accepted as miracles for Gianna’s sainthood both involve childbirth.
The first involved a woman at a Brazilian hospital run
by Gianna’s brother. In 1977 she had given birth to a
stillborn child by Caesarean section and was suffering
such severe complications and infection that doctors
wanted to transfer to her to a specialist unit 600kms
away. After the staff prayed to Gianna Beretta Molla, the woman was the
next day so completely healed that doctors discharged her.
The second miracle, dating from 2000, also took place in Brazil. A young
woman lost all her amniotic fluid early in her pregnancy. Doctors warned
that if she did not terminate the pregnancy she risked a fatal infection. After
prayers to Gianna, the woman successfully carried to term her pregnancy
despite the absence of amniotic fluid, defying medical science.
On April 24, 1994, in St. Peter’s Square in Rome, His Holiness John Paul
II proclaimed Gianna Beretta Molla, Mother of a Family, “Blessed.” The
Pope said that her witness was a “hymn to life.”
On Sunday, May 16, 2004, Pope John Paul II canonized Blessed Gianna
Beretta Molla, a wife, mother and pediatrician. In the Pope’s words, “Gianna
Beretta Molla was a simple, but more than ever, significant messenger of
divine love. In a letter to her future husband a few days before their marriage, she wrote: ‘Love is the most beautiful sentiment the Lord has put into
the soul of men and women.’ Following the example of Christ, who ‘having
loved his own…loved them to the end’ (John 13:1), this holy mother of a
family remained heroically faithful to the commitment she made on the day
of her marriage. The extreme sacrifice she sealed with her life testifies that
only those who have the courage to give of themselves totally to God and to
others are able to fulfill themselves. Through the example of Gianna Beretta
Molla, may our age rediscover the pure, chaste and fruitful beauty of conjugal love, lived as a response to the divine call.!”
Never before have the widower and children of a newly proclaimed saint
been present in St. Peter’s Square at the canonization Mass. For 92 year
old Pietro Molla, frail and wheelchair-bound, it was an intense spiritual
moment. The veil covering a huge image of his wife, Gianna, was pulled
back to reveal a colored photograph of a smiling woman with a baby in her
arms. The infant’s knitted cap and Gianna’s hairstyle place it firmly in the
no-so-distant 1950’s. The picture was in striking contrast with the more
customary depictions of saints, such as those of pious nuns and monks on
their knees gazing upwards. On Sunday, February 5, 2006 Gianna;s son
Pierluigi will visit our parish to bring a statue and a relic of his “MOTHERSAINT” to our parish.

Bienvenido. P. Tomas Zielinski
P. Tomas Zielinski nació el 20 de diciembre de 1976 en Dabrowa Tarnowska (un pueblo localizó en la parte del sur de
Polonia). Sus padres se mantienen trabajando en una granja
pequeña en un pueblo llamado Nieczajna Dolna. P. Tomas
crecía en un ambiente católico de su familia. Reconoció que
él tenía una vocación a la vida religiosa antes de que él se
graduara en la escuela secundaria. De manera especial
sintió que Dios estaba llamándolo mientras asistía un retiro
espiritual, para los jóvenes que se graduaban, en Cracovia.
En 1996, Padre Tomas entro en la Orden de los Misioneros
Redentoristas. El 15 de agosto de 2002, emitió sus votos
perpetuos, y un año después fue ordenado a sacerdote por
el Reverendo Monseñor Obispo Peter Libera en Tuchow,
Polonia. Durante sus primeros dos años del sacerdocio, él
trabajó en una parroquia en Elblag, Polonia dónde él estaba
como un catequista en la escuela elemental y la escuela
secundaria menor. Él también estaba al cargo de los monaguillos, lectores y el ministerio a los grupos de los niños.
Desde julio de 2005, Padre. Tomas fue transferido a Chicago
a la parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Czestochowa en Cicero, para servir como un vicario. Su lema sacerdotal viene de
la Primera Carta de San Pablo al los Tesalonicenses:

Semana de las Escuelas Católicas
La Escuela de Santa María de Czestochowa estará celebrando la semana de
las Escuelas Católicas el sábado 28 de
enero, comenzando con la Misa familiar

12:30 vamos a entronizar las reliquias de Santa Gianna Beretta
protectora de las familias. Para esta
fiesta va a estar presente su hijo
Pierluigi cual va a venir de Italia con
reliquia de su “MADRE-SANTA” a
nuestra parroquia.
La Educación religiosa
Se invitan padres de estudiantes que asisten
a las clases de Educación Religiosas a venir
al aula de escuela a las 9:00am el sábado, el
28 de enero de 2006, para recibir el informe
y hablar de progreso de su niño con el
catequista. Las clases de los niños empezarán a las 8am.
Las conferencias entre padres y catequistas empezarán a las
9am. Se permitirán a los estudiantes dejar el aula con sus
padres al final de la conferencia. Se recuerda a los padres de
estudiantes que recibirán la Primera Comunión en este año
que deben presentar el Certificado Bautismal del niño en
este momento o lo más pronto posible en el futuro cercano.

El lunes, el 30 de enero de 2006 hay una reunión para

se efectuara en el salón de la escuela a horas 6:30pm y
es obligatoria por lo menos para uno de los padres.
EL CONCIERTO
El domingo, el 8 de enero de 2006, los coros de nuestra
parroquia han presentado los cantos navideños. Todos han
disfrutado de este acontecimiento. Las felicitaciones a todos
los miembros de los coros y a Witold Socha, nuestro organista de la parroquia, por preparar el concierto. ¡Era una
clausura bonito a la estación de Navidad!.

Jan stał z dwoma swoimi uczniami i gdy zobaczył
przechodzącego Jezusa, rzekł: Oto Baranek Boży.
Dwaj uczniowie usłyszeli, jak mówił, i poszli za
Jezusem. Jezus zaś odwróciwszy się i ujrzawszy, że
oni idą za Nim, rzekł do nich: Czego szukacie? Oni
powiedzieli do Niego: Rabbi! - to znaczy: Nauczycielu - gdzie mieszkasz? Odpowiedział im: Chodźcie, a zobaczycie. Poszli więc i zobaczyli, gdzie
mieszka, i tego dnia pozostali u Niego. Było to około godziny dziesiątej. Jednym z dwóch, którzy to
usłyszeli od Jana i poszli za Nim, był Andrzej, brat
Szymona Piotra. Ten spotkał najpierw swego brata i
rzekł do niego: Znaleźliśmy Mesjasza - to znaczy:
Chrystusa. I przyprowadził go do Jezusa. A Jezus
wejrzawszy na niego rzekł: Ty jesteś Szymon, syn
Jana, ty będziesz nazywał się Kefas - to znaczy:
Piotr.

Witaj Ojcze Tomaszu
O. Tomasz Zieliński urodził się 20 grudnia
1976 roku w Dąbrowie Tarnowskiej
(południowa Polska). Rodzice jego mieszkają
i pracują na małym gospodarstwie rolnym w
Nieczajnie Dolnej. Od najmłodszych lat wychowywał się w wierzącej i praktykującej rodzinie katolickiej. Powołanie do życia zakonnego rozpoznał przed maturą będąc na rekolekcjach dla maturzystów w klasztorze Redemptorystów w Krakowie. W 1996 roku
wstąpił do Zgromadzenia Redemptorystów.
15 sierpnia 2002 roku złożył profesję wieczystą, a rok później przyjął święcenia kapłańskie w Tuchowie z rąk J. E. Biskupa Piotra
Libery. Przez pierwsze dwa lata pracował w
Elblągu jako katecheta w szkole podstawowej i gimnazjum. W parafii prowadził duszpasterstwo dzieci oraz ministrantów i lektorów.
Pół roku temu w lipcu został przeniesiony do
Chicago do parafii M B Częstochowskiej w
Cicero aby od 1 stycznia 2006 roku objąć
funkcje wikarego. Jego mottem życiowym są
słowa z Pierwszego Listu świętego Pawła
Apostoła do Tesaloniczan: "Zawsze się radujcie. Nieustannie się módlcie. W każdym położeniu dziękujcie".
Wielkie wydarzenie
w naszej parafii
W niedzielę 5 lutego o godzinie 10:30 odbędzie się intronizacja relikwii św. Joanny Berretta Molla. Na tej Mszy będzie
obecny jej Syn Pierluigi, który
przyjedzie specjalnie na tę
uroczystość.

KONCERT W PARAFII
W niedzielę, 8 stycznia 2006 roku odbył się koncert kolęd
na zakończenie Okresu Bożego Narodzenia, w którym
brały udział wszystkie chóry parafialne (dorośli i dzieci)
orkiestra dęta oraz soliści. Gratulacje dla wszystkich
członków chórów a w sposób szczególny dla P. Witolda
Sochy naszego organisty za przygotowywanie koncertu.
To było piękne zakończenie Okresu Bożego Narodzenia.
