Parish Summer Fest & Carnival
Our pastor, Fr. Radek, has been granted
permission from the Town of Cicero to
hold our parish carnival on the grounds
located at 34th and Laramie. This is a
great location because there is ample
parking across from the Carnival grounds!
In conjunction with our Parish Feast Day of Our Lady of
Czestochowa (August 27th) we are planning to hold the
Carnival beginning on Thursday, August 24th through Sunday, August 27th. It is the hope of our pastor and the committee that this event will be a huge success and that all of our
parishioners will help to support it!
A letter from Fr. Radek about the Carnival, as well as the
Summer Feast Day Raffle Book, is being sent via 1st Class
Mail to all registered parishioners. We expect that every
household will receive this mailing by the end of June. It is
extremely important that all parishioners make an effort to
sell/purchase the entire raffle book (10 tickets @ $10 each)
for $100. There are 2 1/2 months in which to work on selling
the raffle book. The raffle drawing will take place at the Carnival on Sunday, August 27th. Ask your relatives, friends
and neighbors to purchase a ticket so that you can sell all
ten tickets! Our parish expenses are many and our funds are
depleting quickly! We need everyone’s cooperation to make
this event a success and we need everyone’s help!
If you do not receive this mailing, please notify the parish
rectory office, your name may be omitted from our file; we
may not have your correct address; or it may be that our
Postal Service did not deliver it. All registered parishioners’
names and addresses should be listed in our file if we do not
have your name in our file, it means that you are not registered! Please know that it is very important that your information is correct for our parish files and please help us to keep

St. Mary of Czestochowa
Prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is nothing
less than a close, private conversation with a living
person who is the risen Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. It is about as close as we can come in this life
to talking with God face to face. You are very
important to the Lord. Come and spend an hour
with Him during our Wednesday Adoration program from 8:30 am to 7:00pm in the church.

STEWARDSHIP: COOPERATION
IN REDEMPTION
Penance, voluntarily accepted,
is a part of everyone’s Christian
life. Today as in the past, the
Church commends what Pope
Paul VI called the “traditional triad”
of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
It also encourages Catholics to
adopt penitential practices of their own choice that suit their
particular circumstances. If one accepts penance voluntarily
one gradually becomes liberated from those obstacles to
Christian discipleship. These obstacles include not just the
quest for pleasure but avarice, a craving for the illusion of
absolute dominion and control, valuing creatures without
reference to their Creator, excessive individualism, and ultimately the fear of death unrelieved by hope for eternal life. All
of these obstacles are consequences of sin - sin which
threatens the way of life of Christian stewardship and the
identity of Christians as disciples of the Lord. “Let us master
this great and simple truth, “Cardinal Newman once said, “that
all rich materials and productions of this world being God’s
property, are intended for God’s service; and sin only, nothing
but sin, turns them to a difference purpose” The Spirit of wisdom and courage helps people seek pardon and be mindful,
in the face of all their forgetting, that the most important work
of their lives is to be Jesus’ disciples.
Dying to Live: a Migrant’s Journey
On Monday, June 12th at 7pm Fr. Dan Groody will
present his film, Dying to Live, in the school hall of St.
Anthony of Padua, 1500 S. 49th Court, Cicero. Made in
2005 , before the present national debate on immigration began, Fr. Groody’s movie gives a Christian perspective to the plight of today’s immigrant. This film
presentation is made possible by the Cooperative of
Parishes of Cicero and Berwyn, the Latino Institute of
the University of Notre Dame and Office of Peace and
Justice of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Parishioners of
the Cooperative, all the parishes of Cicero and Berwyn
are invited to view the film at St. Anthony Parish.
Indonesia Earthquake
A powerful magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Indonesia. The death toll is over 5,000 and is expected to
rise. The quake’s epicenter is near the ancient city of
Yogyakarta, approximately 250 miles east of the capital, Jakarta. This is the nation’s worst disaster since
an earthquake and tsunami hit the country in December, 2004. In the chaos that followed the quake, rumors of an impending tsunami sent thousands of people on Java fleeing to higher ground. But fears soon
subsided as local officials confirmed that there was no
danger of a killer wave. Catholic Relief Services
(CRS) has been working in Indonesia since 1957 to
assist the poor and the disadvantaged, and to
strengthen the people’s capacity to become selfreliant. If you would like to help CRS in its efforts ,

The Most Holy Trinity
Romans 8: 14-17
Beginning in Advent,
which is the birth of a new
church year, and continuing through to Pentecost, we are asked to follow
Mary’s lead by treasuring and pondering everything
that God has done for us: God’s plan for creation,
his plan to rescue us through Jesus, and his plan to
lead and guide the church through the power of the
Holy Spirit until Jesus comes again.
Today, as we celebrate Trinity Sunday, we mark a
change in direction. Today’s feast acts as a kind of
bridge between the first half of the church year,
when we follow the path of salvation history, and
the second half, when we are asked to respond to
the salvation Jesus won for us.
So today we cross the bridge. We’ve commemorated so much since Advent, and now it’s time to
respond. And appropriately, Trinity Sunday sets the
perfect stage for our response. On this day, we
ponder and treasure the way God has revealed
himself to us, we are confronted with a mystery we
will never be able to fathom. And in the fact of this
great mystery, we might be tempted to ask why
God would even care to reveal himself and his love
to a people whom he created but who have turned
away from him in sin.
It’s only when we connect with the Holy Spirit that
we come to appreciate the one word that most
clearly describes our Triune God: LOVE. Love is
the reason why God creates. Love is the reason
why Jesus saved us. Love is the reason why the
Holy Spirit has chosen to live in our hearts and
mold us into the image of Christ. And love is the
reason why God will never give up on us.
So ask yourself today, “How can I best respond to
the God who has been so good and kind to me?”
But be sure also to ponder God’s love, the love that
has moved him to do everything he has ever done
for you.
“Pour out your love upon us, O Lord, so that we
might know you and walk in your presence each
day.”

La Santísima Trinidad
En aquel tiempo los once discípulos se fueron a
Galilea, al monte que Jesús les había indicado. Al
verlo, ellos se postraron, pero algunos vacilaban.
Acercándose a ellos, Jesús les dijo:Se me ha dado pleno poder en el cielo y en la tierra. Id y haced
discípulos de todos los pueblos, bautizándoles en
el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo; y enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que os he
mandado. Y sabed que yo estoy con vosotros
todos los días, hasta el final del mundo.
(Mt. 28,16-20)
Cooperación en La Redención.
La penitencia es el otro aspecto de la vida
Cristiana. Mediante la penitencia aceptada
voluntariamente uno gradualmente se libera
de los obstáculos al seguimiento de Cristo
que la cultura secularizada, exaltadora de la
gratificación individual, pone en el camino.
Estos obstáculos incluyen no sólo la búsqueda del placer sino también la avaricia, el deseo desorbitado del dominio y el control absoluto que valora a las criaturas sin referencia
al Creador, el individualismo excesivo y finalmente el temor a la muerte sin la esperanza consoladora de la vida eterna.
Estas son las consecuencias del pecado-un
pecado que amenaza el estilo de vida de la
corresponsabilidad cristiana y la identidad de
los cristianos como discípulos del Señor.
Aprendamos esta gran pero sencilla verdad,¨
el Cardenal Newman dijo una vez, ¨que todas
las riquezas y productos de este mundo, al ser
propiedad de Dios, son para el servicio de
Dios, y el pecado solamente nada más que el
pecado los convierte a otros propósitos. El
pecado hace que las personas se centren en sí
mismas, se vuelvan envidiosas de las posesiones de otras personas y quieran explotarlas, se
acostumbren a las relaciones medidas no según la generosidad del cristiano corresponsable sino según los cálculos del interés propio.

Morir para Vivir: Jornada de un Inmigrante
Lunes, 12 de Junio a las 6:30 pm, P. Dan Groody
presentará su película Morir para Vivir: Jornada
de un Inmigrante en el salón de la escuela de San
Antonio de Papua, 1500 S. 49th Court, Cicero.
Hecho en 2005, antes del debate presente nacional
sobre la inmigración, P. Groody documenta las
dificultades, frustraciones y peligros de cruzar la
frontera para sobrevivir en busca de una vida mejor. P. Groody nos dará la perspectivo cristiana de
inmigración de hoy en día.

El domingo que viene el 18 de Junio en
nuestra Parroquia se celebrará la Fiesta
de Corpus Cristi . Invitamos a todos que
participen en la Procesión que se llevará
a cabo a las 3:00 pm. Vengan todos para
agradecer a nuestro Señor por el precioso
don de la Eucaristía.
El día 13 de Junio se celebra la
Fiesta de San Antonio de Papua.
Uno de los santos que más se
han granjeado el corazón y la
estima del pueblo cristiano es
San Antonio. Llámasele, según
famosa frase de León XIII, «el
santo de todo el mundo»; pero es
conocido, amado e invocado preferentemente
por el pueblo humilde, que ha vislumbrado en
él al dispensador de los tesoros celestiales y
al protector decidido de los intereses de los
pobres. La historia, principalmente la más
antigua biografía del Santo paduano, conocida por el nombre de Assidua, nos da en síntesis una perfecta semblanza del mismo.

Uroczystość Trójcy Przenajświętszej
Jedenastu uczniów udało się do Galilei na górę,
tam gdzie Jezus im polecił. A gdy Go ujrzeli,
oddali Mu pokłon. Niektórzy jednak wątpili. Wtedy Jezus podszedł do nich i przemówił tymi słowami: Dana Mi jest wszelka władza w niebie i na
ziemi. Idźcie więc i nauczajcie wszystkie narody,
udzielając im chrztu w imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha
Świętego. Uczcie je zachowywać wszystko, co
wam przykazałem. A oto Ja jestem z wami przez
wszystkie dni, aż do skończenia świata.
(Mt 28,16-20)
Grzech i Pokuta
Pokuta jest jednym z elementów Chrześcijańskiego życia,
wyraża się ona w modlitwie, w poście i jałmużnie. Poprzez dobrowolnie przyjętą pokutę człowiek stopniowo
staje się wolnym, aby służyć Chrystusowi wbrew współczesnemu dążeniu społeczeństwa, które myśli, że potrafi
spełnić swoje pragnienia w sposób pełny i bezwarunkowy
bez Bożej pomocy. To myślenie jest konsekwencją grzechu, które zagraża Chrześcijańskiemu życiu a szczególnie
uczniom Chrystusa. Wszystkie dobra materialne pochodzą
od Bogu i mają do Niego prowadzić jednakże grzech zakłócił ten kierunek.
Grzech sprawia, że ludzie zwracają się ku sobie. Szukają
zaspokojenia potrzeb wykorzystując do tego innych ludzi.
Zanim cokolwiek zrobią pytają siebie, „Co ja z tego będę
miał?” Chrześcijanie natomiast mają błagać Boga o łaskę
nawrócenia, o łaskę poznania tego, kim są, do kogo należą
i jak mają żyć. Jeśli zaakceptujemy sposób, w jaki Bóg
chce nas prowadzić i podejmiemy wysiłek nawrócenia,
Bóg odpowie nam tak jak ojciec marnotrawnemu synowi i
okaże miłosierdzie przez przebaczenie grzechów. Zatem
pokuta prowadzi do przebaczenia. Na przebaczenie człowiek odpowiada miłością. Miłość wyraża się w służbie
innym a to prowadzi do zbawienia.

Po raz pierwszy chcemy zorganizować
karnawał parafialny. W związku z tym
zwracamy się z gorącą prośbą do
wszystkich parafian o pomoc. Aby karnawał mógł się odbyć potrzebne jest
zaangażowanie wielu osób. Chętnych
prosimy o wypełnienie poniższej formy
i wrzucenie jej na niedzielną kolektę
lub skontaktowanie się z biurem parafialnym.

O Uroczystości Trójcy Przenajświętszej
„Ojciec jest miłością, Syn jest łaską, więzią jest Duch Święty...” Nie przypadkiem
tydzień po uroczystości Zesłania Ducha
Świętego obchodzimy uroczystość Trójcy
Przenajświętszej – to właśnie Duch Święty, który zamieszkał w naszych sercach
przez chrzest, uzdalnia nas do wiary
w Boga będącego jednością trzech Osób.
Bóg w Trójcy jedyny jest tajemnicą, na
której zgłębienie nawet cała wieczność
nie będzie zbyt długa. Jest zarazem Bogiem bliskim, żywym, objawiającym się
nieustannie, przenikającym całe nasze
życie, bez końca dzielącym się dobrem.
On nie przestaje działać: z miłości Ojca
powstaliśmy, Syn swoją łaską przywrócił
Uroczystość Bożego Ciała.
W przyszłą niedzielę 18 czerwca będziemy obchodzić Uroczystość Najświętszego Ciała i Krwi Pana
Jezusa – Boże Ciało. Bardzo
serdecznie zapraszamy na godz.
3:00 po południu, by wziąć
udział w procesji z Najświętszym
Sakramentem. Tradycyjnie już
ulicami miasta udamy się do
czterech Ołtarzy, gdzie czytana
będzie Ewangelia. Bardzo prosimy, by w miarę możliwości
przyjść w strojach regionalnych.
Dajmy świadectwo naszej wiary i przywiązania do
Boga, Kościoła i naszej tradycji. Serdecznie zapraszamy na wspólną modlitwę.
Kurs Przedmałżeński!
Przypominamy, że w każdą II niedzielę miesiąca w
naszej parafii po Mszy św. o godz. 10.30 odbywa się
kurs przedmałżeński. Osoby zamierzające zawrzeć
Sakrament Małżeństwa powinny pamiętać, iż należy:
► zgłosić się do kancelarii parafialnej przynajmniej pół roku przed ślubem w celu ustalania daty
i złożenia depozytu.
► Na trzy miesiące przed ustaloną datą ślubu dostarczyć: świadectwo chrztu i bierzmowania
wystawione przez proboszcza nie później niż
sześć miesięcy przed datą ślubu.
► Zaświadczenie o odbytym kursie „Precana”
