JESUS’ EXAMPLE OF HELPING OTHERS
In today’s second reading Paul offers a
wonderful argument to his converts at Corinth
for seeking to help those in need. He is dealing with a practical problem, arranging a collection for the poor of the church of Jerusalem; but as he often does, he develops an important teaching about Jesus to make his point.
After asking that they show their faith by
generous gifts, he reminds them of the “gracious act of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was rich, for your sake he
became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich”.
In the Incarnation our Lord assumed our human nature, certainly becoming poor for one who is God. The ultimate gracious act of this poverty was going to the cross with all its
terrible sufferings. By this act of poverty we definitely become rich. Now our sins can be forgiven; we can share in the
very life of God through the sacraments; we can attain eternal
salvation!
The second collection this week is for Diocesan Obligations.
Next weekend’s second collection is designated
for Utilities and Energy.
DOMINICAN SISTERS
The Dominican Sisters of West Hartford, CT are pleased to
report that they raised $342.00 from the bake sale. Thank you
for your generous support.
FIRST FRIDAY
First Friday adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take
place after the 7:00am Mass on July 6 and continue throughout the day concluding at 3:00pm with the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy followed by benediction. Adorers are asked to
attend at their scheduled time. A Mass will also be celebrated
at 7:00pm in the Polish language.
Please note: All members and parishioners are cordially
invited to join us at the 7:00am Mass which is designated for
either the living or deceased members of the Sacred Heart
Society.
DEVOTIONS TO THE DIVINE MERCY
This Sunday at 3:00 pm the monthly devotion to the Divine
Mercy will take place. We will pray for special graces needed
in our lives and in the world. Please join us in this meaningful
devotion as we celebrate the merciful love of Jesus Christ.

UPDATE ON THE PARISH CENTER
I am very grateful for your kindness in returning the ballots
for the parish center. A good number of parishioners have expressed their opinion, while others may need more time to make
a decision, therefore we are extending the voting an extra week
to give everyone an opportunity to express their opinion. Let
me emphasize that the million dollars which is necessary to
include the parish center in this project may sound like a lot of
money , however, the benefits of an adequate and easily accessible facility is well worth the investment. It would be more
cost effective to build the parish center at the same time as the
gym. A parish center will provide adequate facilities for various social, religious and cultural functions such as the 1-25 club
banquet, christenings, weddings, and other receptions.
It is encouraging to know that there are individuals who are
interested in providing assistance with matching donations.
There are also others who would make a donation of seed
money for an endowment fund for the upkeep of the building.
In this jubilee year, the most important issue at hand is our
unambiguous resolve and intrepid courage to take the destiny
of our parish in our own hands for our good and that of future
generations.
Please give this matter your serious consideration. If you did
not vote last weekend, please use the ballot in the pew and
place it in the collection basket.
JUBILEE PILGRIMAGE TO CZESTOCHOWA SHRINEDOYLESTOWN, PA
Mark your calendar!- Saturday, August 25 and Sunday
August 26 for our pilgrimage to the Our Lady of Czestochowa
Shrine in Doylestown, PA. Please call the rectory if you are
interested in joining us for a two-day trip, at a cost of $230, for
accommodations, bus transportation, sightseeing, dinner and
lunch. This is a great opportunity to obtain the blessing of God
on your life or a special grace for which perhaps you have
prayed for a long time. To make this pilgrimage more enjoyable
we are providing one day of sightseeing of the Amish Country
to bring you back to the old days of simplicity and close family
life in an agricultural setting. Fr.Gregory will accompany this
pilgrimage. Please call the rectory to reserve your place as soon
as possible. The pilgrimage does not begin when you board the
bus, but begins when you make a decision to participate and
identify your intention. From that day, you should pray daily
for this intention until you reach your destination. On the day of
the pilgrimage, you personally present your petitions in the sacred ambience of the shrine.
PREVENTING CHILD ABUSE IS EVERYONE’S
RESPONSIBILITY
It is every adult’s moral responsibility to protect the children
from becoming possible victims by reporting the suspected
abuse or neglect to the responsible authorities. Sexual abuse of
minors is a pervasive societal problem, and only concerted and
sustained efforts by all adults in every segment of society can
help to protect children and youth. For particular help you may

INDEPENDENCE DAY
This Wednesday, we celebrate Independence Day or the 4th
of July, the most important national holiday in the United
States. It commemorates the formal adoption of the Declaration
of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776 in
Philadelphia, PA. The declaration is an eloquent statement of
the American colonies’ intention to become an independent
nation. This celebration is a reminder of the ideals on which the
nation was founded.
In this country, we have basic freedoms such as freedom of
religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of conscience. We
also have freedom for human rights under the guidance of God.
The simple principles of the Catholic faith which are summarized in two commandments Love of God and Neighbor are the
basic qualities which should be imitated by all people. With the
proposed health care provision by President Obama, the freedom of conscience is greatly endangered. Let us pray for our
country that the basic human values of our forefathers will prevail despite groups of public interests.
Many Americans observe the Independence Day holiday with
picnics, barbecues, or other outings with friends and family. It
is customary for communities to have firework displays in the
evenings.
Following the diocesan schedule, the rectory will be closed on
Wednesday, July 4.

PARISH CENSUS
The jubilee year is an opportunity to define ourselves and our
particular mission within the context of the Ecclesial community. It has been customary that the parishes conduct a census of
their family membership. The term “parish” is deeply rooted
in the experience of its members. A parish is an institutional
and social model and at the same time a mystical communion.
The institutional model is a visible community with ecclesiastical authority of the Church, Pope, Bishops, etc. who safeguard
the truth of its teachings and facilitate the necessity of finding
salvation in its midst. The mystical communion is the body of
Christ, the people of God who within its fellowship find both
closeness to God and harmony with each other. Briefly speaking, the Church is a sacramental reality, which includes the notion of authority, a fellowship within the sacraments and public witness to salvation in Jesus Christ. For 125 years, our Ecclesial community provided public witness to the Gospel values, by prayer, liturgy, devotional practices, acts of charity, and
providing catholic education. It is now time to identify ourselves through participation in the parish census.
In the next several days, you will receive a letter and census
form in the mail. Please complete the information pertaining to
you and your family and return it in the collection basket or by
mailing it to the rectory by August 1, 2012. Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated.

FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM UPDATES
Closing Mass: Bishop McManus will celebrate a
Mass for the Protection of Religious Freedom on
Monday, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s
Church, 355 Grafton St., Worcester. Mass will be
followed by a presentation downstairs in the church
hall by Professor Christopher Klofft: “Freedom and
Truth: What it Means to be Catholic and American

Bóg nie uczynił śmierci ani się na
nią dla nas nie zgadza. On jest dawcą
życia – to prawda podstawowa, do
której każdy chrześcijanin powinien
wracać jak do źródła. Bożą
odpowiedzią na cierpienie i śmierć

zmartwychwstanie
Jezusa
Chrystusa, które wspominamy i świętujemy każdej
niedzieli. Za cenę własnego ogołocenia Jezus
zwycięża naszą śmierć i uwalnia nas z ciemności
grzechu, abyśmy mogli żyć w Bożym świetle i
osiągnąć szczęście.

PIERWSZY PIĄTEK
Adoracja pierwszopiątkowa rozpocznie się po
Mszy św. o godz. 7 i potrwa do godz. 15:00 i
zostanie zakończona Koronką do Miłosierdzia
Bożego. Wszystkie grupy parafialne proszone są o
uczestnictwo w adoracji według ustalonego
grafiku. Msza św. w języku polskim zostanie
odprawiona o godz. 19:00.
Parafianie i członkowie Sacred Heart Society są
szczególnie proszeni o udział we Mszy św. o godz.
7 rano i w modlitwie za żywych i zmarłych
członków Stowarzyszenia.

Jesteśmy bardzo wdzięczni za wszystkie zwrócone
i wypełnione kartki z Waszymi opiniami na temat
centrum parafialnego. Z powodu tego, że nie
wszyscy parafianie byli obecni w ubiegłą niedzielę

Po wypełnieniu prosimy o złożenie ich do koszyka w
trakcie kolekty.
Przypominamy, że kwestia dotyczy budowy
centrum parafialnego jednocześnie z budową sali
gimnastycznej. Żeby to jednak było możliwe
potrzebny jest jeszcze jeden milion dolarów. Suma ta
wydaje się ogromną jednak perspektywa dostępu do
nowoczesnego centrum wydaje się być wartą takiego
wysiłku. Poza tym, budowa samej tylko sali
gimnastycznej pociągałaby za sobą dodatkowe
koszta na zmianę planów architektonicznych. Nie ma
wątpliwości, że centrum parafialne jest bardzo
potrzebne dla funkcjonowania naszej parafii. Jedyny
problem stojący na przeszkodzie to niewystarczające
środki finansowe do zrealizowania tego projektu.
Zachętą niech będzie dla nas fakt, że istnieją osoby,
które już zaoferowały swoje wsparcie. Są i takie
osoby, które obiecały wspierać fundację, która
będzie troszczyć się o utrzymanie budynku w
przyszłości.
W Roku Jubileuszowym ważna jest nasza
jednoznaczna postawa i odwaga w decydowaniu o
przyszłości i kształcie naszej parafii, którą
pozostawimy przyszłym pokoleniom.
SPIS PARAFIALNY
Rok Jubileuszowy jest dla nas okazją do
zdefiniowania naszej misji życiowej w kontekście
wspólnoty kościelnej. Parafia jest zwyczajowo
głęboko
zakorzeniona
w
doświadczeniu
przynależących do niej ludzi. Parafia jest zarówno
instytucją społeczną i religijną. Wymiar społeczny
jest widoczny m.in. strukturze hierarchicznej
Kościoła jak również w Jego działalności na rzecz
dobra bliźniego.
W sferze duchowej parafia
przynależy do Mistycznego Ciała Chrystusa. Dzięki
temu w przynależności do Kościoła i parafii
człowiek odnajduje bliskość Boga i harmonijną
relację z ludźmi.

otrzymywali listy i formularze spisowe. Prosimy o
wypełnienie tych formularzy i złożenie ich do
koszyka w czasie kolekty lub przysłanie na plebanię
