GOD’S TIME
We either pay attention to or ignore
“clock time” as we play in the summer sun
and note the earth’s tilt and the lengthening
days. We live by time. We reckon time in
seconds and minutes and hours, or we use
broader chunks like suppertime and summertime.
God keeps another sort of time. God speaks to us of “saving
time,” that is, the time of salvation. This sense of time is called
kairos, and this time is always now, always present and available, always revealing, often surprising.
This Sunday’s readings alert us to the reality and the import
of God’s time. Ezekiel and the Gospel of Mark remind us that
our labor and our plotting and our planning rest in God. For
God takes our smallest efforts and makes of them great works.
Paul points us to the “harvest” time, urges us to be watchful for
its coming, and calls us to recognize that we must spend our
time pleasing God.
This weeks second collection is for Diocesan Obligations.
The second collection next weekend is designated
for Peter’s Pence.
FATHERS’ DAY
This Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day, allowing us to honor
our fathers with prayers, visit, a token of appreciation, or a silent prayer at the cemetery. These are all gestures of gratitude
for all the hard work, security and support we receive from our
fathers. And to all the Fathers—May the blessings and love of
our Heavenly Father be yours in abundance this Father’s Day
and always.

ALUMNI MASS AND SOCIAL
This Sunday, June 17, at 9:30am we welcome the
alumni of St. Joseph School who return to their Alma Mater during our Jubilee Year to meet colleagues and some
of their teachers. We also welcome several Felician Sisters who play an important role in our School. After
Mass we invite the alumni and the Sisters to the school
for coffee and Danish and a private tour of the school by
our principal, Mr. Cushing. Alumni of our parish are invited to join us.
PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION
Peter’s Pence Collection is an annual world-wide collection to help the Holy Father to support victims of disaster, war, oppression and to those most in need of assistance. Pope Benedict XVI uses the Peter’s Pence Collection to strengthen dioceses, religious orders and struggling communities of faith. We join Catholics throughout
the world in a loving expression of solidarity and share in
the concern of the successor of Peter. Let us support the
Holy Father in his mission. The collection will be taken
on the weekend of June 23/24.
SACRED HEART SOCIETY ANNUAL COMMUNION MASS AND COMMUNION BREAKFAST
On Sunday, June 24 at 8:15am, the Sacred Heart Society will hold its annual communion Mass followed by a
breakfast for members, new members, parishioners and
friends. All members should meet at the Whitcomb St.,
entrance of the Basilica at 7:45am. Please wear your
medals. New members will be invested at that time.
CHANGING OF THE GUARD-SJPWC
On Tuesday, June 12 the St. Joseph Polish Women’s
Club held their Installation Banquet at Point Breeze. A
large number of the membership of this prestigious organization gathered for dinner and the ceremony of the
installation of a new slate of officers: President, Cindi
Gardner; Vice President, JoAnn Canty; Recording Secretary, Esther Lesse; Treasurer, Ursula Zdrok; Financial
Secretary, Jill Manak; Publicity Chair, Joyce Dziedzic;

Felicia Kolodziejczak; Delegates to the Felician Sisters,
Cindi Gardner, Pat Parslow and Donna Recko; Directors,

luck for the upcoming year in your dedication to St. Joseph School.!
The Club also awarded scholarships to Luke Dery and

FORTNIGHT FOR FREEDOM
Across this nation there are a variety of rallies and gatherings to express the coercive HHS mandates requiring
virtually all Health Plans to cover contraception, sterilization and abortifacient drugs. This is the first time in our
country that the federal government forces religious institutions to act contrary to our most deeply health, religious
and moral convictions. Over 40 institutions of higher
learning including Notre Dame University, Catholic University of Washington, DC, etc., are taking this issue to
the highest court in the United States.
The Conference of Bishops in the US have announced a
special period of prayer study and public action called
“The Fortnight for Freedom”. This 14-day period emphasizing both our Christian and American Freedom in the
Diocese of Worcester will begin on Friday, June 22 at
7:00pm at St. Paul Cathedral. A delegation from each
parish is requested to join in this action. Nazism tried to
redefine religious freedom and moral issues and ended up
in disaster. Let us pray that our effort and prayer will be
united and successful.

The Dominican Sisters of West Hartford, CT will be
selling bread, brownies and a variety of pies on Sat., June
23 and Sun. June 24 at the Basilica entrance. These are
baked according to the Dominican Community recipes.
The proceeds from the sale will be used to buy medical
supplies for their mission to support the lepers. Your support is appreciated.
Blessed John Paul II Parish-multi-cultural festival on
the grounds of Notre Dame Church, Southbridge on Sat.,
June 23 from 11am-11pm. A featured item at the Polish
Booth will be a limited number of babkas baked by the
Felician Sisters of Enfield, CT.
St. Roch Festival Parish-will hold their Annual Festival on Sat., June 23 from 8am-8pm at 334 Main St., Oxford. Breakfast begins at 8am. Activities include: a huge
vendor sale, raffles, crafts, homemade baked goods, book
and garage sale, lunch served from 11:30am-3pm and
chicken barbecue at 5:30 (advance sale only). For more

JUBILEE PILGRIMAGE TO CZESTOCHOWA
SHRINE
Mark your calendar!!—Sat., August 25 and Sun.
Aug. 26 for our pilgrimage to the Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine in Doylestown, PA. Please call the rectory
if you are interested in joining us for a two-day trip, at a
cost of $230, for accommodations, bus transportation,
sightseeing, dinner and lunch. This is a great opportunity
to obtain the blessing of God on your life or a special
grace for which perhaps you have prayed for a long time.
To make this pilgrimage more enjoyable we are providing
one day of sightseeing of the Amish Country to bring you
back to the old days of simplicity and close family life in
an agricultural setting. It is a reasonable cost and you can
spend two meaningful days with friends of our Basilica
family. One of our priests will join in this pilgrimage.
We already have several reservations, so please call the
rectory to reserve your place as soon as possible.
125TH JUBILEE UPDATE
We are grateful for all the parishioners who have
fulfilled their $1000 obligation. There are some who
have reached their suggested goal and are still contributing on a monthly basis.
We will progress in our outside work as much as
our finances allow. There are other areas which
were outlined some time ago which will soon require
our attention. Your generosity is much appreciated
and needed.
CATHOLIC YOUTH GROUP
FIRE PIT & S’MORES-at Mrs. Valcour’s home
to honor the start of summer, the three different
Youth Groups are invited to Mrs. Valcour’s home
(122 Sutton Road, Webster) for badminton, wiffle
ball, basketball, board games and S’mores by the
fire. Rain or shine. Please let Mrs. Valcour know if
you will be attending so she can plan accordingly or

Gdy przychodzimy po całym tygodniu
pracy w niedzielę na Mszę świętą, Bóg
chciałby ten czas wykorzystać, dając
nam jak najwięcej. To właśnie tutaj On,
Siewca, będzie chciał siać swoje słowo
w naszych sercach. On wie, że niektórzy z nas są jak gleba
żyzna, niektórzy jak gleba piaszczysta, a inni to po prostu
kamienie. Jednak Boski Siewca się nie męczy, sieje ziarno
we wszystkich i oczekuje, że wydamy plony. Stawajmy się
przed Nim najlepszą glebą, na jaką nas stać, pozwólmy,
żeby zasiane dzisiaj słowo mogło przynosić jak najbogatsze plony.
Dzisiejsza druga kolekta jest przeznaczona
na Zobowiązania Diecezjalne.
Druga kolekta w następnym tygodniu jest przeznaczona
na Peter's Pence Colection.
DZIEŃ OJCA
Dzisiejszej niedzieli świętujemy Dzień Ojca, który pozwala nam na uhonorowanie naszych ojców poprzez modlitwę, złożone życzenia oraz wyrazy uznania, a wszystko
to po to, by podziękować im za całą ciężką pracę włożoną
w nasze wychowanie. Niech Ojciec Niebieski obdarzy
swoim błogosławieństwem wszystkich ojców nie tylko w
dniu ich święta, ale i na każdy dzień ich życia.

SPOTKANIE ABSOLWENTÓW
Dzisiejszej niedzieli na Mszy św. o godz. 9:30 spotkają się absolwenci naszej szkoły, którzy powracają
do swojej Alma Mater w Roku Jubileuszowym, aby
spotkać się ze swoimi przyjaciółmi i kolegami ze
szkolnej ławy. Witamy również Siostry Felicjanki,
które odgrywają bardzo znacząca rolę w funkcjonowaniu naszej szkoły. Po Mszy św. absolwenci i siostry spotykają się w szkolnej kafeterii na kontynuacje
spotkania, którego częścią będzie możliwość zwiedzenie szkoły pod przewodnictwem pana dyrektora
Donalda Cushinga. Na spotkanie zapraszamy szczególnie wszystkich tych absolwentów, którzy jednocześnie są parafianami Bazyliki św. Józefa.
ZBIÓRKA PETER'S PENCE
Zbiórka Peter's Pence jest coroczną ogólnoświatową akcją, której celem jest wsparcie Ojca Świętego
w pomocy ofiarom katastrof naturalnych, wojen i
prześladowań. Papież korzysta również z tych ofiar
we wspieraniu znajdujących się w potrzebie wspólnot wiary. Łączmy się zatem ze wszystkimi katolikami na całym świecie w solidarnym geście wspierania
dzieł Ojca Świętego. Zbiórka odbędzie się w weekend 24 i 25 czerwca.
DOROCZNA MSZA
SACRED HEART SOCIETY
W niedzielę 24 czerwca Sacred Heart Society organizuje swoją coroczną Mszę połączoną ze wspólnotowym śniadaniem, na które zapraszają wszystkich
członków organizacji, przyjaciół i parafian. Członkowie organizacji proszeni są o przybicie do kościoła o
godz. 7:45. W czasie Mszy zostaną przyjęci nowi
członkowie organizacji.
PIELGRZYMKA JUBILEUSZOWA
Częścią obchodów jubileuszu naszej parafii będzie
pielgrzymka do sanktuarium Matki Bożej
Częstochowskiej w Doylestown, która odbędzie się
25 i 26 sierpnia tego roku. Pielgrzymka to przede
wszystkim podróż do miejsca kultu w celach
religijnych. Dla nas to będzie okazja do okazania
wdzięczności Bogu, za wszelkie łaski, które spłynęły
na naszą parafię, przez te wszystkie lata. Poprzez
wieki pielgrzymki były zawsze szczególną formą
modlitwy ponieważ są połączone z ofiarą i trudami
dotarcia do sanktuarium, gdzie łaska boża objawia
się w sposób szczególny np. poprzez objawiania
Matki Bożej lub różnorodne cuda.
Nasza pielgrzymka będzie jednocześnie połączona
ze zwiedzaniem wspólnoty Amiszów. W niedzielę
będziemy uczestniczyli w nabożeństwach w
sanktuarium zanosząc do Boga modlitwy w naszych
osobistych intencjach i w intencjach naszej
wspólnoty parafialnej.
DWA TYGODNIE DLA WOLNOŚCI
Istnieje wiele organizacji i ugrupowań, które
naciskają, by ubezpieczenie zdrowotne pokrywało
antykoncepcję,
sterylizację
oraz
środki
wczesnoporonne. Po raz pierwszy w tym kraju
zdarza się ta, że rząd przymusza instytucje religijne
do działania wbrew ich głębokim przekonaniom
religijnym i etycznym. Ponad 40 instytucji
zajmujących się kształceniem wyższym, w tym
Notre Dame Uniwecity, Catholic Univercity of
Washington etc. wnoszą pozew w tej sprawie do
Sadu Najwyższego.
Konferencja Biskupów Stanów Zjednoczonych
ogłasza specjalny okres modlitwy, nauczania i
różnorodnych akcji społecznych pod hasłem: "Dwa
tygodnie dla wolności". Te czternaście dni
poświęcone walce o wolność zarówno religijną jak i
społeczną rozpoczną się w naszej diecezji
specjalnym nabożeństwem w katedrze św. Pawła w
Worcester. Delegacje z każdej parafii są proszone o
