OUTREACH PROGRAM
I just had a brilliant idea! For all you gardeners out
there. The time is rapidly passing and sowing a garden
of home-grown vegetables and condiments is in many
of your minds. If we have an agreeable Spring and
Summer, you will have an abundance of fresh food....so
abundant that you will be giving much of it away. The
brilliant idea is not for you to freeze or preserve the
food but that you share it with the clients of the
Outreach. We will happily distribute the food to those
who normally would not be receiving it but who could
very much use healthy handouts. Please consider this
idea.
While we await the fresh savory crop that we pray you
will have, would you please think about the following
contributions:
Shelf milk, canned fruit, vegetables, ravioli,
macaroni and cheese, spaghetti-O’s, peanut butter
and jelly. Tuna fish is always a needed item also.
PS If your neighbor brags to you about all the beautiful
vegetables that he has this year, consider making the
suggestion that he share it with those who need it most.

May 3rd is Rosary Altar Society Sunday. Please join our
members after the 10:30am Mass, as we process out to
the Shrine to crown our Blessed Mother. Let us all pay
homage to our Patroness, Our Lady of the Assumption,
for the blessings and wonderful graces she has bestowed
on all of us. Refreshments will be served immediately
following in the Lower Church Hall. All are invited.

Pedimos a todos aquellos parroquianos que se dan a la
tarea de cultivar verduras, en sus jardines, durante
primavera y verano, que compartan la cosecha con los
más necesitados. Aqui en el Outreach, gustosamente
recibiremos lo que ustedes consechen en sus jardines.
Nosostros nos encargaremos de orar para que Dios les
bendiga con abundancia.

Matka Boża Wniebowzięta
MAJOWE UKORONOWANIE
W następną niedzielę 3 maja zapraszamy
wszystkich parafian do przyłączenia się do
krótkiej celebracji majowej ku czci Matki Bożej
bezpośrednio po Mszy św. o godz. 10:30.
Przejdziemy wówczas wspólnie w procesji do
naszego Sanktuarium, aby włożyć koronę na
figurę Matki Bożej. Bezpośrednio po zakończeniu ceremonii zapraszamy wszystkich na
ciastko i kawę/ herbatę do sali pod kościołem.
NABOŻEŃSTWO MAJOWE
W każdą niedzielę maja na pół godziny przed
Mszą św. wieczorną w języku polskim (o godz.
16:30) będzie odprawiane w naszym kościele
Nabożeństwo Majowe w języku polskim.
Ponadto w dni powszednie wieczorami o godz.
19:00 grupa osób będzie gromadzić się przy
figurze Matki Bożej na zewnątrz kościoła, aby
odmawiać Litanię Loretańską.

odprawiane będą począwszy od 9 maja.

See What Love the Father has Bestowed on Us!
Every person of Faith sometimes wonders
what eternity with God will be like. In today’s
second reading, St. John tells us “what we shall
be has not yet been revealed”. But he continues:
“when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we
shall see him as he is”.
In another place in Scripture we hear
“eternal life is this, to know God and Jesus Christ
whom he has sent”
It seems to me that a good way to prepare
for this eternal life would be to get to know God
as much as possible now. We can do this by
seeing God’s reflection in the beautiful world
around us, by studying what great minds have
taught us about God, and mostly by studying the
Scriptures, God’s revealed Word. These are all
forms of prayer which can get us ready for the
great “revealing”.
In the meantime we have to be patient!
We try to mirror Jesus to our fellow travelers,
and also to those who are not yet on the road.
Today’s Gospel gives us the model of the
Good Shepherd ready to lay down his life for his
sheep. The first reading reminds us that there is
no other name than Jesus” by which we are to be
saved”.
God’s Love is everlasting . . .
