STOPIEŃ SZKOLNY – 04.11.2015 R.
1. Test konkursowy zawiera 16 zadań. Są to zadania zamknięte i otwarte. Na ich rozwiązanie
masz 90 minut. Sprawdź, czy test jest kompletny.
2. Zanim udzielisz odpowiedzi, uważnie przeczytaj treść zadania.
3. Wszystkie odpowiedzi czytelnie i wyraźnie wpisuj w wyznaczonych miejscach.
4. Przy rozwiązywaniu zadań zamkniętych wyboru wielokrotnego wybierz jedną,
prawidłową odpowiedź i zaznacz ją krzyżykiem, np.:

6. Test wypełniaj niebieskim lub czarnym długopisem nieścieralnym, nie używaj korektora,
ołówka ani gumki. Nie komunikuj się z innymi uczestnikami konkursu.
7. Podczas rozwiązywania zadań nie możesz korzystać ze słowników ani innych pomocy
naukowych.
8. Sprawdź wszystkie odpowiedzi przed oddaniem testu.
9. Nie podpisuj testu, zostanie on zakodowany.
10. Brudnopis, dołączony do testu, nie podlega ocenie.

Zadanie 1. (10 p.)
Przeczytaj poniższy tekst. Na jego podstawie zdecyduj, czy podane pod tekstem zdania są
prawdziwe (TRUE), czy fałszywe (FALSE).
THE GREAT FIRE
On Sunday morning, 2nd September 1666, the fire started in London. A baker in
Pudding Lane forgot to put out his oven fire before he went to bed. In the early morning,
hot sparks from the oven fell onto some wood. Soon the baker’s house was on fire! The
fire spread quickly to other buildings in the city. It was called the Great Fire of London.
After many weeks of hot weather and no rain, everything was dry. The fire burned for a
long time because it was windy, the wooden houses with thatched roofs stood close to
each other and the streets were narrow.
People ran away from the fire across the River Thames or to the hills in the north of
London. They could see flames for miles around from the hills. Luckily, strong winds
stopped the fire from spreading south of the river. The fire burned until Thursday night.
It destroyed over two square kilometres of the city: 13,200 houses and 87 churches
(including St. Paul’s Cathedral!) were burnt down. About 200,000 people lost their
homes.
Officially, only six people died because many of them managed to escape. The fire
in 1212 was much more serious, because it killed 3,000 people.
Today, the place of the bakery in Pudding Lane is marked by a tall column called the
Monument. The architect Christopher Wren designed it. The Monument was built between
1671 and 1677 to commemorate the Great Fire of London. In the 17th century scientists
used the Monument as a laboratory for experiments on gravity. If you climb 311 steps to
the top, you get a certificate.
