Course description
Improves and refines accuracy and style of English content produced by translators whose
source text is in Polish by improving technical translation skills and written skills in English.
Provides extensive Polish-English translation exercises designed to practice and improve the
translation of grammatical and stylistic constructions including time relationships, nouns,
modal verbs, conditionals, etc. Provides extensive practice in utilizing proper lexical choice,
word order, and syntax. In-class discussion allows students to reason through different
approaches to relevant and accurate translations. Provides introduction and practice with
writing expository essays in English, then producing content for English compositions and
essays. Students successfully completing this course will have increased skills and ease in
producing accurate and well-written English translations.
