THE CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN
FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (CCHD)
CCHD is committed to accountability and transparency.
We allocate funds to community projects that promote
the mission and vision of CCHD and the Catholic
Church while adhering to the moral and social teaching
of the Church. Please visit www.usccb.org (search
“CCHD”) to view funding criteria and see a detailed
list of our most recent grants. CCHD’s primary source
of support is an annual Collection held in parishes
across the United States. The Collection is split, and
25% of the proceeds support anti-poverty projects in
the diocese where the funds are collected.
DON’T FORGET YOUR BABY BOTTLE!
On the weekend of November 30th & December 1st,
Our Lady of the Assumption will be hosting a Baby
Bottle Fundraiser to benefit The Life Center of Long
Island. The Life Center is a crisis pregnancy center that
counsels women and men who are experiencing an
unplanned pregnancy. They provide maternity
housing, medical care, referrals, cribs, car seats, diapers
and ALL other items that are needed. We are asking
that you pick up a baby bottle and fill it with your
change. Most importantly, we are asking you to recite
the prayer on the bottle.
The prayer attached to the bottle will enable the
counselors at The Life Center to say just the right
words a mother or father may need to hear. It
especially opens a mother’s heart to accept the truth.
We believe these prayers lead abortion-minded
women to call The Life Center in the first place.
Let us pray with our whole heart for
the lives of our unborn children

OUTREACH PROGRAM
We thank you for all you have done and want to wish you all
a very Happy Thanksgiving. We are very much aware that
without you there would be no Outreach. We love you and
are very sincere in our “thank-you’s”.
Now that I have buttered you up, how about we talk
Christmas? I am going to spare you my moaning and
groaning about time flying by and cut to the chase. We will
be putting the ornaments on the trees next week and want to
let you know what we did that makes it a little different from
the past. We have asked the parent what the child(ren) would
like and also what was needed. We put both requests on the
card so you can make the choice: child’s wish or Mom’s wish.
There will not be a lot of time to shop as we will be
distributing the gifts on Thursday the 19th. Because we are
under pressure, we will ask that, if possible, you wrap the gifts.
Please, please, please put the tag on the gift otherwise we have
no way of knowing for whom the gift goes.
The gift need to be returned to us within
the next two weeks (December 15th)!

NATIONAL NIGHT OF PRAYER FOR LIFE
We still need interested parishioners from our
community of faith to join us in our prayer service
for the National Night of Prayer for Life scheduled
for Sunday, December 8th from 9PM through
December 9th at 1AM in the Church. The main issue
is to see that Jesus is not alone at any time during
these four hours of devotion. This weekend, you
will find sign-up sheets in the rear of the Church and
Auditorium, which cover the four hours separately,
They are in half hour increments but you are invited
to stay as long as you are able to. Find out which one
is suited for you and sign up today. Please try to
spend some time thanking Jesus for all the blessing.

VIGILIA NACIONAL POR LA VIDA
Aún estamos necesitando parroquianos interesados en
acompañarnos en nuestro servicio de “Vigilia Nacional
de Oración por la Vida”. Esta actividad está
programada para el Domingo 8 de Diciembre a las
9:00PM y continuando hasta la 1:00AM del día Lunes
9 de Diciembre, en la Iglesia. El asunto principal es
ver que Jesús Sacramentado no esté solo en ningún
momento durante esas cuatro horas de devoción.
Este fin de semana encontrarán hojas de registro en
la parte trasera del Auditorio y de la Iglesia. Estas
hojas están separadas en horas. Ustedes eligen la
hora en que pueden estar presentes, ya sea por treinta
minutos o una hora. Por favor, dedique un poco de
su tiempo acompañándo y agradeciendo a Jesús por
las múltiples bendiciones que nos ha otorgado.

¡NO OLVIDEN SU BIBERON!
Durante el fin de semana 30 de Noviembre y 1 de Diciembre
Nuestra Señora de la Asunción estará patrocinando la
recaudación de Biberones para beneficiar al Centro de la Vida
de Long Island. Este lugar es un centro para embarazos en
crisis, que asesora a mujeres y hombres que están atravezando
por un embarazo imprevisto. El Centro provee vivienda,
chequeo médico, cunas, asientos para transportar al niño en el
auto, pañales y TODO los demás artículos necesarios durante
la maternidad. Estamos pidiendo que ustedes lleven un
biberón y depositen el todos esas monedas que reciben como
cambio cuando efectúan sus compras. También es importante
que ustedes incluyan en sus oraciones la oración que se
encuentra en las botellas de biberón.
Esa oración facilita a los consejeros en el Centro de la Vida
decir las palabras correctas que una madre o un padre
necesitan oír. Esta oración, especialmente, abre el corazón de
una madre, para que acepte la verdad. Creemos que estas
oraciones conducen a las mujeres, que están considerando el
aborto, a que llamen al Centro de la Vida.

DESFILE ANUAL NAVIDEÑO
Sábado 7 de Diciembre, 1:00PM
El desfile saldrá del Banco Chase (al norte de
nuestra parroquia) y finaliza en el Auditorio.
Todos los residentes de Copiague están invitados
a participar en el desfile, disfrutar de refrescos y
conocer a Santa Claus y a la Señora Claus.
DESPENSA PARROQUIAL
La próxima semana pondremos los
“ADORNOS/ETIQUETAS” en el Arbol
de Navidad (Iglesia y Auditorio). Este año tenemos
una nueva modalidad. Hemos preguntado a los padres
qué es lo que los niños desean y qué necesitan. Esa
información va en las “adornos/etiquetas”, Queda a su
voluntad qué es lo que ustedes desean regalar.
Estaremos distribuyendo los regalos Navideños el
Jueves 19 de Diciembre, por consiguiente
necesitamos que ustedes traigan los artículos ANTES
DEL 15 DE DICIEMBRE! Por favor SI ES POSIBLE
envuélvan los artículos en papel de regalo. Y NO
OLVIDEN pegarle el ADORNO/ETIQUETA, de otra
manera no sabremos a quién le pertenecen.

PROGRAM POMOCY SOCJALNEJ PARISH OUTREACH-
Serdecznie dziękujemy za Wam za Waszą ofiarność i wszelką
pomoc. Bez Waszej pomocy nasze biuro nie mogłoby
funkcjonować. Życzymy wszystkim radosnego Święta
Dziękczynienia.
W związku ze zbliżającymi się Świętami Bożego Narodzenia
ponownie prosimy o pomoc. W przyszłym tygodniu zawiesimy
ornamenty na drzewkach. Pytaliśmy rodziców z potrzebujących rodzin, co ich dzieci pragnęłyby otrzymać w prezencie i
czego najbardziej potrzebują. Obie informacje zamieścimy na
kartce i wówczas będą mogli Państwo wybrać: życzenie
dziecka albo życzenie rodziców . Prezenty zostaną rozdane w
czwartek 19 grudnia. W związku z tym, że pozostało niewiele
czasu, prosimy także o zapakowanie prezentów. Prosimy
ponadto, abyście umieścili na opakowaniu kartkę z imieniem i
nazwiskiem osoby, dla której przeznaczony będzie prezent.
Prezenty należy przynieść do naszego biura najpóźniej do 15
grudnia.

NA RZECZ ROZWOJU LUDZKIEGO
Zebrane fundusze są przeznaczane na projekty rozwoju
naszych wspólnot, promocję misji oraz ewangelizajcę.
Kryteria przydzielania funduszy oraz lista projektów, na które
fundusze zostały ostatnio przyznane, znajdują się na stronie
internetowej: www.usc-cb.org (CCHD). Podstawowym
źródłem wspierania kampanii jest doroczna kolekta
przeprowadzana w parafiach w całych Stanach
Zjednoczonych. Dochód z niej zostaje podzielony, po czym
25% zebranej kwoty zostaje przeznaczonych na projekty
zapobiegujące ubóstwu na terenie diecezji, w której
fundusze zostały zebrane.
NIE ZAPOMNIJCIE O BUTELCE DLA NIEMOWLAKA!
Podczas weekendu 30 listopada -1 grudnia w naszej
Parafii odbywać się będzie Zbiórka Funduszy na Butelkę
dla Niemowlaka. Dochód z akcji przeznaczony zostanie na
wsparcie Centrum Życia na Long Island. Centrum Życia
jest ośrodkiem wspierającym kobiety i mężczyzn w
przypadkach nieplanowanej ciąży. Pracownicy Centrum
służą poradą, pomagają zapewnić mieszkanie, opiekę
medyczną, łóżeczka, foteliki samochodowe, pieluszki oraz
WSZYSTKIE inne potrzebne rzeczy. Prosimy, aby wzięli
Państwo jedną z butelek dla niemowląt i napełnili ją
monetami 25-centowymi.
Prosimy Was także o modlitwę. Tekst modlitwy dołączony
jest do butelki. Wasza modlitwa będzie wspierać pracowników Centrum Życia, aby potrafili dobrać trafne słowa,
które powinni usłyszeć rodzice nienarodzonego dziecka
aby otworzyć się na nowe życie. Wierzymy, że dzięki Waszej modlitwie osoby, które myślały o aborcji, zatelefonują
najpierw do Centrum Życia.
Módlmy się całym sercem o obronę życia
nienarodzonych dzieci.

Nadal prosimy o zgłaszanie się do nas parafian, którzy
pragnęliby przyłączyć się do nas na modlitwę i wspólne
czuwanie w Narodową Noc Modlitwy w Obronie Życia
Poczętego, która będzie miała miejsce w nocy z niedzieli
na poniedziałek 8-9 grudnia, od godz. 21:00 do 1:00 w
nocy. Bardzo ważne jest, aby poprzez te cztery godziny
Pan Jezus w Najśw, Sakramencie nie był “sam”.

Biuro Kampanii informuje , że całkowita zadeklarowana
kwota wynosi obecnie $535,320, z czego ponad $300,000
już otrzymaliśmy w formie przedpłat gotówkowych od 452
rodzin należących do naszej parafii. Ksiądz Proboszcz wraz
z komitetem Kampanii pragną podziękować wszystkim
parafianom, którzy już złożyli swoje donacje na rzecz
Kampanii. Doceniamy Państwa szczodrość.
Kampania trwa nadal!
Serdecznie prosimy Was o pomoc w osiągnięciu naszego
celu, jakim jest zebranie kwoty $550,000. Można złożyć
donację jednorazową lub rozłożyć ją na raty. Wszystkie
donacje bez względu na wysokość są mile widziane, bardzo
potrzebne i szczerze doceniane.
JESIENNE SPRZĄTANIE U BENEDYKTYNEK
Siostry Benedyktynki proszą Państwa o pomoc w uporządkowaniu terenu wokół ich posesji w Huntington w
sobotę 30 listopada. Wszyscy, którzy chcieliby i mogliby
pomóc, proszeni są o pozostawianie w kancelarii parafialnej wiadomości ze swoim nazwiskiem i numerem
telefonu.

“JESUS, REMEMBER ME
WHEN YOU COME INTO YOUR KINGDOM”
Surprisingly, the Gospel for this Feast is a scene from the
Crucifixion of Jesus. Not what one would expect for a Feast
honoring the King of the Universe! That is, unless one takes
seriously the two mandates upon which this kingdom is built:
Love the Lord, your God, with your whole heart and mind and
strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. The King of this
kingdom is the King of Love.
We do not live in a kingdom, but imagine for a moment
that we live in a “Democracy of Love”. Everyone loves his
neighbor as himself, and all love God above all things. And our
leader loves everyone enough to die for them. This would
already be Paradise. There would be no violence, no hate, no
cheating, etc.
Yet, this is the life Jesus envisions for us even now. If we
embrace these two commandments, St. Peter assures us “you are
already filled with a joy so glorious that it cannot be described”.
(1Peter 1:8)
Returning to the request of the “good thief”, what a great
promise, straight from the mouth of Jesus!
“Amen, I say to you,
today you will be with me in Paradise.”
