FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT
Stewardship Note: “But when these signs begin to happen,
stand erect and raise your heads because your redemption is at
hand.” We celebrate Advent each year in preparation of the
birth of Jesus, His first coming, as we await his second coming.
In this Advent season, use the sacrament of Reconciliation to
strengthen your relationship with Jesus. It’s never too late.
The Coming Kingdom - Jeremiah could
see it coming—the kingship of Jesus and
the restoration of Jerusalem. But was anybody listening? Is anybody listening now?
It must have been tough being a prophet,
but Jeremiah was persistent in his message because he
knew that it needed to be heard.
Also persistent in his message is Paul as he encourages the Thessalonians—and all of us—to live in accordance with the kingship that Jeremiah foretold. He encourages us to conduct ourselves in ways of holiness so
that we may be well prepared for the king’s coming. Finally, Jesus himself tells us to be ever diligent so that we
may gain favor before our God and King.
Jeremiah could see the kingship of Jesus coming. As
we begin the season of Advent, Paul and Jesus tell us not
only how to prepare for the Kingdom, but how to live it
day to day.
First Sunday of Advent Prayer - May God help us with his
grace, so that we may start Advent with enthusiasm and good
will by going to meet Christ, our Redeemer, with good works.
May Mary, the Daughter of Zion chosen by God to be the
Mother of the Redeemer, guide and accompany us and make
our preparation for Christmas rich in joy and good fruit.
Praised by Jesus Christ! Amen.
- St. John Paul II
NOTE - The new chasuble for this Advent reflects the traditional prominent purple color and will enhance our Liturgical
Celebration in this special time of the year. It is a donation of
Msgr. Anthony Czarnecki.
Next weekend’s second collection is designated
for our parish obligations to the Diocese
Knights of Columbus #12980 - meeting to be held on
Wednesday, Dec., 2 at 7:00pm in the school conference room.
Thank you to this fine parish organization for distributing
over 120 turkeys to our school families, parishioners and Food
Share. We are also grateful to WalMart that donated 20 turkeys
to make a Happy 2015 Thanksgiving Day for many.
First Friday - adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will begin
after the 7:00am Mass which is designated for the Deceased
Members of the Sacred Heart Society and will conclude at
3:00pm. Adorers are asked to attend at their appointed time.
Mass will also be celebrated at 7:00pm.

OPłATKI
The Christmas wafers were first associated with the Nativity
of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world and constitute an essential element of the family Christmas vigil supper. This custom
is celebrated by millions of people and is continually growing
because it symbolizes the Blessed Sacrament and Jesus who is
forever the Bread of Life. Breaking the opłatek with members
of your family means sharing life, difficulties, joy and peace
throughout the year. An explanation of the ritual of the breaking of the opłatek is printed on the packet.
Opłatki will be blessed this weekend at the 4:00pm Mass
and available in the sacristy. A donation of $3 is appreciated.
Pierogi Sale - to satisfy your Christmas palate cheese and
cabbage pierogi made on the premises may be ordered for pick
up on Dec., 19 & 20th. Order forms available at entrances to
Basilica. Dozen for $16 - half - dozen $8.
ANGEL GIVING TREE
The Angel Giving Tree in the sanctuary and at the front entrance of the Basilica gives us the opportunity to exercise our
Christmas spirit in the Advent Season. We ask you to take an
“angel” and make it part of your Christmas giving. By providing assistance to children and elderly you are becoming an angle of wisdom, education and charity to brighten the season of
Christmas for those in need. There is a great need for tuition
assistance for families who want their children to attend St.
Joseph School but have a difficult time meeting expenses in
these economic times.
Please place the angel on your gift and place it under the tree
in the sanctuary before December 15th to allow time for distribution. If you prefer to donate a monetary gift, please bring it
to the rectory or place in collection basket.
Your gifts will put smiles on the faces of the less fortunate,
especially the children.
DEVOTION AND NOVENA TO ST. JOSEPH
On Wednesday, Dec. 2nd at 7:00pm, we will celebrate the
Votive Mass to St. Joseph followed by the Novena. Please
make a special effort in this Advent Season to join us so that we
may better understand that love comes from God and obtain
needed graces especially in this time of Advent. Once our
hearts are opened to love, then the face of the world will be
changed.
Members of the Holy Rosary Sodality will carry our Patron’s
statue into the sanctuary. We are grateful for the graces requested through the intercession of St. Joseph and the offerings
you place in the petition box.
FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO - join us on December 4th at St.
Joseph School Cafeteria for a fun-filled evening. Doors open at
5:00pm and games begin at 6:45pm. Members of the St. Anne
Society will be on hand to assist our players.

KRONIKA PARAFIALNA
PIERWSZA NIEDZIELA ADWENTU
Rozpoczynamy dziś Adwent – okres liturgiczny,
w którym przypominamy sobie, że Pan Jezus
przyjdzie do nas. Przyjdzie w dniu Bożego
Narodzenia, ale przede wszystkim przyjdzie w dniu
ostatnim. Czy zastanie nas przygotowanych? To
w dużej mierze zależy od nas. Aby to przyszłe
trzeba już dzisiaj rozpoznać Pana i przyjąć Go, gdy przychodzi
w modlitwie, w Eucharystii, w sakramencie pokuty, w drugim
człowieku.
Druga kolekta w przeszłym tygodniu będzie przeznaczona na
Zobowiązania Diecezjalne.
MODLITW NA PIERWSZĄ NIEDZIELĘ ADWENTU
Niech Bóg wspomoże nas swoją łaską, abyśmy rozpoczęli Adwent z
entuzjazmem i dobra wolą idąc na spotkanie Chrystusa, naszego Zbawcy
niosąc ze sobą dobre uczynki. Niechaj Maryja, Córka Syjonu, wybrana przez
Boga prowadzi nas i wspiera oraz uczyni nasze przygotowanie do Bożego
Narodzenia bogatym w radość i owocnym czasem. Niech będzie pochwalony
Jezus Chrystus. Amen
Ornat w kolorze fioletowym, który będziemy używali w czasie
Adwentu, odzwierciedla tradycyjną prominentną purpurę i podkreśla
o godz. 7:00, która będzie sprawowana w intencji zmarłych członków
Sacred Hear Society. Adoracja potrwa do godz. 15:00 i zakończy się
Koronka do Miłosierdzia Bożego. Mszą św. Po Polsku o godz. 19:00.
prezbiterium i w wejściu do Bazyliki dają nam możliwość stworzenia
które pragną by ich dzieci uczęszczały no Szkoły św.
takiemu wydatkowi.
Prosimy umieszczać aniołki na zapakowanych prezentach i położyć je pod
drzewkami w Bazylice. Prezenty będą zbierane do 15 grudnia. Datki
LOSOWANIE MEGE RAFFLE
Losowanie odbędzie się w sobotę, 5 grudnia w szkolnej
kafeterii tuż po Mszy św. o godz. 16:00 i poświęceniu choinki.
To już ostatni weekend kiedy można zakupić kupony w cenie
$25 za jeden lub $50 za trzy. Można je również nabyć w biurze
parafialnym lub u członków Rady Parafialnej: Tony Kusek (508)

-8570
Do wygrania: pierwsza nagroda: $3000, druga nagroda:
$1000, trzecia nagroda: $500. ZAPRASZAMY!!!
DIAKONAT
W najbliższy czwartek, 3 grudnia biskup Robert McManus
uroczyście odprawi ryt przyjęcia kandydatów do diakonatu w
naszej diecezji. Ceremonia odbędzie się w parafii św. Anny w
Shrewsbury o godz. 19:00.
Gratulujemy i życzymy wielu
łask Bożych na drodze do posługi Diakonatu.
ROK MIŁOSIERDZIA
Za dwa tygodnie, w niedzielę, 13 grudnia w katedrze
św. Pawła, nasz biskup, Robet McManus, na uroczystej
Eucharystii o godz. 16:00 rozpocznie obchody Roku
Miłosierdzia. Na ten rok nasza Bazylika została wybrana na
centralne miejsce pielgrzymek i obchodów.
Boga i siebie nawzajem.
CHRISTMAS SHOW
Za dwa tygodnie, w niedzielę 13 grudnia, dzieci z naszej szkoły
zapraszają na świąteczne przedstawienie, które zaprezentują nam
w Bartlett High School o godz. 14:00. Zapraszamy wszystkich do
nam lepiej i głębiej przeżyć atmosferę Świąt Narodzenia
Pańskiego.
PIELGRZYMKA NA MALTĘ - ŚLADAMI ŚW. PAWŁA
Parafia Matki Bożej Częstochowskiej w Worcester zaprasza na
pielgrzymkę na Maltę w dniach 7-18 listopada 2016 roku. Malta
