Stewardship Note: “The community of believers was of
one heart and mind and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own”. All that we are and all that we have is a
gift from God! Think of your family, your friends, your talents
and abilities—these are all gifts from God. We aren’t really
owners of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts with
which God has blessed us.

SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER
April 12, 2015
Who indeed is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? - 1 John 5:5
OF ONE HEART AND MIND
Reading about the faith of the early Christian
believers can be a real inspiration to those of us
who have been Christians for a long time, as well
as for those who are newly baptized. Can you
imagine people of this world being “of one heart and mind” as
was the first community of believers? Today’s First Letter of
John seems to hold the key to how this can be accomplished.
Keeping God’s commandments and loving all of God’s children seems to be the start of being “of one heart and mind.”
We live in a world that stresses differences-differences among
religions, among races, between genders and among economic
classes. Today we are summoned to focus on what we all share
in common on this fragile planet of ours.
This week’s second collection
is for Higher Utility and Energy costs.
ANOINTING SERVICE/DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
This Sunday, April 12th, which is Divine Mercy Sunday, at
2:00pm the Sacrament of the Sick will be administered in our
Basilica. You are encourage to bring your loved ones for this
special service which will be followed by the Chaplet to the
Divine Mercy. The Sacred Heart Society members will be
available to assist with the elderly, wheelchairs, etc. in the
church.
Divine Mercy Sunday was established to remind us that anyone who flees to God, even the biggest sinner, receives forgiveness of sins and returns to unity with God and the Church

EASTER REFLECTIONS
The Easter Triduum at our Basilica brought our parishioners
plus many people from near and far to celebrate Holy Week
with us. Once again the repository and holy sepulcher added
much meaning to the atmosphere of this special time of the
year.
We appreciate the choirs, adult and children, under the direction of organist, Robert Wójcik with accompaniment by professional musicians who dedicated their time and talent to God and
our Basilica. Thank you to all parents who brought their children to carry lilies for the Holy Thursday procession, altar servers, Children of Mary and members of parish organizations who
attended services.
Congratulations to Seth and Noah Boudreau who received
their First Holy Communion and Kellyann Cronan who was
introduced to full participation in the church by the Sacrament
of Confirmation during the Easter Vigil Mass.
We are grateful to the Altar Guild with its dedicated volunteers for transforming our Basilica to enhance the joyous celebration of Easter. In particular we appreciate the work of Sylvia and Fred Kitka, Jane and John Gogolinski, Fr. Gregory,
Marcia Azzaoui, Helen and George Baldowski, Cindy Bourbeau, Jim Canty, Joan Comeau, Kellyann Cronan, Diane Gajewski, Jarosław Gronek, Dottie Kasierski, Michael Knych,

POPE FRANCIS’ SECRET TO HAPPINESS
Stop being negative - Constant complaining, biting criticism, back-stabbing and gossip are like poisons that kill happiness. “Needing to talk badly about others indicates low selfesteem.” Pope Francis explains. “That means, I feel so low that
instead of picking myself up, I have to cut others down.” It’s
not easy to change from being negative to being positive. The
first step is awareness that being negative or positive is a personal choice. The second step is making a concerted effort to
stop ourselves from negative thoughts and words as soon as
possible. “Letting go of negative things quickly is healthy,” the
Pope adds and it leads to a more positive and a happier outlook
on life.
RECTORY HEATING SYSTEM
On March 19th the rectory heating system was changed to
gas with an annual savings of over 1/3 of the previous cost.
The conversion including the parts and labor totaled $6000.
We consulted with various companies to obtain estimates and
chose the least expensive which was Wheeler Mechanical Company who completed the conversion with National Grid.
Hospitality Committee - on Tuesday, April 21 at 7:00pm
please join the Hospitality Committee for an hour of Prayer
before the Blessed Sacrament for those who have for whatever
reason separated themselves from God and the Church.
ALL ARE INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND!

KRONIKA PARAFIALNA
DRUGA NIEDZIELA WIELKANOCNA
12 kwietnia 2015
A kto zwycięża świat, jeśli nie ten, kto wierzy,
że Jezus jest Synem Bożym? (1J 5, 5)
Jezus przychodzi pomimo zamkniętych drzwi
i pozwala dotknąć swoich ran, tak aby Tomasz
uwierzył.
Po
raz
kolejny
przekonuje
wylęknionych
uczniów
o swoim
zmartwychwstaniu. Ale to przychodzenie ma
jeszcze inny wymiar. Kiedy Zmartwychwstały dotyka ludzkiej
niewiary i lęku, kiedy dotyka naszych ran – mówi o swoim
miłosierdziu. Dobrze jest więc zobaczyć, że Jego rany to nasze
rany i że najczulsza miłość Boga objawia się w przyjęciu przez
Niego naszej kruchości.
Page 5
NAMASZCZENIE CHORYCH
Niedziela Miłosierdzia jest dniem szczególnego działania
łaski Bożej. Dziś po południu zapraszamy wszystkich, którzy
pragną wsparcia w problemach zdrowotnych i zmaganiach
duchowych. Nabożeństwo Namaszczenia Chorych odbędzie się
o godz. 14:00. Bezpośrednio po Nabożeństwie odmówimy
Koronkę do Miłosierdzia Bożego.
Niedziela Miłosierdzia Bożego została ustanowiona
w związku z objawieniami Jezusa Miłosiernego, które miała
siostra Faustyna Kowalska. Ma nam ona przypominać,
że nawet najwięksi grzesznicy mogą otrzymać przebaczenie
i powrócić do jedności z Bogiem.
REFLEKSJA WIELKANOCNA
Po raz kolejny celebrowaliśmy w naszej Bazylice Triduum
Paschalne i Święta Wielkanocne. Zarówno parafianom, jak
i gościom, którzy przybywali z nawet bardzo oddalonych
zakątków naszego regionu, wspaniale przygotowana dekoracja
pomagała w głębokim przeżywaniu Misterium Paschalnego.
Dodatkowo atmosferę Świąt i duchowych przeżyć budowała
oprawa muzyczna w wykonaniu chórów parafialnych pod
przewodnictwem Roberta Wójcik przy akompaniamencie
zaproszonych muzyków.
Szczególne podziękowania należą się Altar Guild wraz
z licznymi wolontariuszami, którzy niestrudzenie pracowali
przy tworzeniu dekoracji w naszej świątyni: Sylvia i Frederik
Kitka, Jane i John Gogolinski, ks. Grzegorz, Eugeniusz
Rudnicki, Marcia Azzoui, Helen i George Baldowski, Cindy
Bourbeau, Jim Canty, Joan Comeau, Kellyann Cronan, Diane
Gajewski, Jaroslaw Gronek, Dottie Kasierski, Michael Knych,
Gen Lariviere, John Marsh, Pat Parslow, Wieslaw Pieniazek,
Betty Sabaj, Sue i Joe Werbecki, i Ursula Zdrok.
NOWENNA DO ŚW. JÓZEFA
Zapraszamy do przyłączenia się do wspólnoty parafialnej
w cotygodniowej nowennie do św. Józefa, naszego wspaniałego
Patrona, który broni nas przed niebezpieczeństwami, wspomaga

szczęścia w niebie. W precesji do ołtarza z figurą św. Józefa

TAJEMNICA SZCZĘŚCIA PAPIEŻA FRANCISZKA
Przestań być negatywny. Ciągłe narzekanie, nieustanne
krytykowanie, obgadywanie za plecami, plotkowanie są jak
trucizna, która zabija szczęście. Papież mówi, że potrzeba złego
mówienia o innych świadczy o niskiej samoocenie. Oznacza to,
że taka osoba tak nisko się postrzega, że zamiast równać siebie
w górę z innymi, chce równać wszystkich w dół do siebie.
i wiedzie do bardziej pozytywnego i szczęśliwszego spojrzenia
Company .
