We have heard about a bush in the desert aflame but not consumed. We have listened to a parable about a father, the depth of whose love for his prodigal son was almost inconceivable. Today, instead of condemning a woman caught in the act of adultery and joining in stoning her to death, the Lord Jesus sends her on her way, away from what would have been certain death, admonishing her to sin no more. Indeed, God has been doing something new in our midst. Even when we are trapped in sin, with no perceivable way out, we are offered forgiveness when we turn to the Lord with repentant hearts. Let us remember that God has done something new in the heart of each of us. The second collection this weekend is taken for the Partners in Charity. This annual Diocesan Campaign is the lifeline to support so many diocesan charitable agencies who serve people in need. In addition it supports the seminarians who are preparing for the priesthood and for retired priests. In this economic difficult time to cut human services to many people would contradict the spirit of service which the Church wants to provide. Your gift, which enables us to bless many people in Worcester County will make a major difference in the lives of many who look to us for hope. Please continue to pray to St. John Vianney, the patron of our appeal, that we many be inspired by his special love for families, the poor and the needy. I hope that through our common effort we will join other parishes and meet our assigned quota of $20,250. If you cannot make a donation this week, feel free to do so next weekend or pledge your donation over 10 months using the special pledge envelopes. ST. JOSEPH POLISH WOMEN’S CLUB We welcome this morning the members of the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club to their annual Communion Mass.
