FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I
will give you rest.”
- Matthew 11:28
SETTING ASIDE THE WEAPONS OF WAR
Why, we might ask the prophet Zechariah today, would God
want to banish chariots and horses? The answer follows: because they are used to violate God’s reign of peace, along with
the warrior’s bow. In the days of Zechariah, chariots and
horses were high-priced items used only for war-making. They
were the aircraft carriers and nuclear missiles of his day. And
for his culture, which thought of any king as being a military
leader first and foremost, a king riding on a lowly beast of burden to proclaim peace without horses, chariots and bows would
have set his listeners topsy-turvy.
This lowly, beast-riding king of peace, we believe, was fulfilled in Jesus, gentle and humble of heart. In a world torn by
military strife often generated by differing religious views and
even in our own lives and homes where we are often at “war”
over the tiniest things, we would do well to stop and consider to
what degree we are willing to be like that “king” whose way of
gentleness and humility is the way for us to find rest for our
weary souls.
The second collection this week is for Diocesan
Obligations.
Next weekend’s second collection is designated for Higher
Energy and Utility Costs.
DEVOTIONS TO THE DIVINE MERCY
This Sunday at 3:00pm we will celebrate the merciful love of
Jesus Christ as we pray for special graces needed in our lives
and in the world. Jesus said to Sr. Faustina, ”Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for will be compatible with my will”. Please make an effort to spend an hour
with Jesus by joining us in this meaningful devotion to the Divine Mercy and Benediction.

PARTNERS IN CHARITY CAMPAIGN
I am pleased to report that St. Joseph Basilica parishioners
again showed their true spirit of caring and sharing by their
generosity to reach this year’s campaign goal of $25,000.
Thank you to all who showed their sensitivity to the needs of
the diocesan church, but especially our chairpersons, Betty Sabaj and Carolyn Swierzbin for their outstanding effort and dedication. We should all be proud to be known as a 100% Partners in Charity parish!
GYMNASIUM/PARISH CENTER/ CAFETERIA
We are grateful to all parishioners who contributed toward
the gymnasium/parish center and cafeteria project during the
month of June. Your donations for the month of June totaled
$5669. We rely on your monthly gifts so that we may continue
with construction to make our school children’s “dream become
a reality”.
NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
Pope Pius IX proclaimed Saint Joseph the Patron of the Universal Church, the unofficial patron against doubt and hesitation, as well as the patron saint of fighting communism and of a
happy death. He is also the patron saint of many cities, towns,
churches, monasteries and other institutions. We are privileged
to have our Basilica named in honor of St. Joseph and we
should take advantage of this opportunity and participate in this
weekly novena and devotion that we may adopt his admirable
qualities of patience and persistence into our own lives.
Please note your intentions on the petition slips available in
the Chapel of Our Lady of Czestochowa to be read during the
Novena. This week our Eucharistic Ministers will have an
honor to carry the statue of St. Joseph into the sanctuary.
ST. JOSEPH GARDEN OF PEACE
This year we have much bigger than usually problem with
grubs and other insects damaging grass and leaving bold areas
at the cemetery. We apologize for the bareness on some of the
lots and would like to assure you that we are doing our best to
rectify the situation following the advice of experts. Compounds will be applied at the proper time of the season to eliminate these pests and restore the grounds to their proper state.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION
On Sunday, July 13th at 7:00pm we will pray the rosary during an outdoor procession in honor of Our Lady of Fatima. As
always, we invite parishioners, friends, organization and especially the Children of Mary to take part in this beautiful tribute
to our Lady.
The flowers in front of the Blessed Mother altar in honor of
Our Lady of Fatima are given in memory of George and Cora
LaRochelle by their daughter Sylvia.
Russia and the United States, both armed with nuclear weapons, are engaged in a growing conflict over events in Ukraine.
Now is the time to honor Our Lady’s request for Russia’s consecration to Her Immaculate Heart in order to bring peace to the
whole world. As our Lady promised: “If my requests are
granted, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.”

KRONIKA PARAFIALNA
CZTERNASTA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA
6 lipca 2014
„Przyjdźcie do Mnie wszyscy, którzy utrudzeni i obciążeni
jesteście, a Ja was pokrzepię.” (Mt 11, 28)
Mimo upływu czasu pamiętamy jeszcze Święta
Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego i obchodzone niedawno
Święto Ciała i Krwi Pańskiej (Boże Ciało).
i Wina. Wierzymy w Boga, bo to nasz fundament,
wierzymy w kościół, bo to nasza tradycja, wierzymy w
daje nam pokrzepienie i wzmocnienie?
KORONKA DO MIŁOSIERDZIA BOŻEGO
Dzisiaj o 3pm zapraszamy na wspólne odmawianie
Koronki ku czci miłosiernego Jezusa modląc się o łaski
potrzebne w naszym życiu i dla całego swiata. Jezus
swojego wzrostu duchowego.
NABOŻEŃSTWO FATIMSKIE
W niedzielę 13 lipca o godz. 19:00 gromadzimy się na
Nabożeństwie Różańcowym, połączonym z procesją ku
czci Matki Bożej Fatimskiej. Jak zwykle zapraszamy
wszystkich parafian, przyjaciół, grupy parafialne a
szczególnie Dzieci Maryi do udziału w tym szczególnym
wydarzeniu, w którym wychwalamy nasza Panią.
DURGA KOLEKTA
* Dzisiaj na Obligacje Diecezjalne (wszelkiego rodzaju
ubezpieczenia).
* W przyszłym tygodniu na koszty elektrycznosci,
klimatyzacji i ogrzewania.
AKCJA PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Dziękujemy wszystkim parafianom, dzięki których
szczodrosci po raz kolejny osiągnęlismy wyzaczona przez
diecezje kwotę parafialną na pomoc ubogim.
CMENTARZ
W tym roku bardziej niż zwykle trawa w wielu miejscach
została zniszczona przez larwy. Z pomocą ekspertów
pracujemy, aby się pozbyć tej plagi. Przepraszamy za
niedogodnosc.
NOWENNA DO SW. JÓZEFA
Papież Pius IX ogłosił sw. Józefa patronem koscioła
powszechnego, nieoficjalnym patronem przeciwko
wątpliwosciom, jak też patronem dobrej smierci. Jest on
patronem wielu miast, kosciołów, zakonów i innych
instytucji. Mamy szczególny przywilej, że jest on
również patronem naszej rodziny parafialnej. Dlatego
powinnismy wykorzystać możliwosć wypraszania go o
łaski modląc się podczas cotygodniowego nabożeństwa w
srody o 7pm. Prosmy go o łaski cierpliwosci I
kaplicy MB Czestochowskiej. Będą one czytane podczas
nowenny.
GRUPA MODLITEWNA-PRAYER LINE
Przypominamy, że w naszej parafii oferujemy jeszcze
jedną możliwosć wypraszania potrzebnych łask za
posrednictwem tzw. Prayer Line, czyli grupy ludzi, którzy
w swoich domach codziennie ofiarują modlitwy w
intencjach złożnych pod Krzyżem misyjnym przy wejsciu
do kosciołą.
dzwonić do Theresa Jankowski 508-943-5355.
RELIGIA
Przypominamy o zapisach na naukę religii, gdyż musimy
wiedzieć ile podręczników zamówić. Po 1 lipca
rejestracja wzrasta o $5.
SZKOŁA SW. JÓZEFA
Zapraszamy dzieci już od 3-go roku życia do zapisywania
się do Szkoły sw. Józefa, w której oprócz edukacji
rozwijamy też ducha wiary I służby drugiemu według
Aby szkoła przetrwała I
WYDARZENIA
Z racji długiej listy różnych ciekawych programów
zapraszamy do zapoznania się z nimi w angielskiej częsci
biuletynu.
