Stewardship Note: “As the Lord spoke to me, the spirit entered me and set me on my feet and I heard the one who was
speaking say to me, ‘Son of man, I am sending you . . . .”’ God
asks each of us to do some special work for Him. He gives us
the resources we need to do His work. However, do we listen
to God when He calls? Do we get up on our feet and give our
talent to do the work He asks of us? Remember, God doesn’t
call the equipped, he equips the called.
FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
July 5, 2015
My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in
weakness.
- 2 Corinthians 12:9
FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST
Mark’s Gospel account today is built
on a double astonishment or amazement:
the neighbors and family of Jesus are
astonished that he taught in the synagogue with wisdom and worked powerful signs. Jesus, in turn, is amazed that
they have no faith in him because they know his origins, not
because of any fault with his teaching or ministry. As with
many of Mark’s passages, we get a rather intimate glimpse here
of the human part of Jesus’ two-fold nature. To reinforce his
point, Mark tells of Jesus’ return to his native place and further
points out that he is in the midst of his own family members
there. From the very people he expected the most, Jesus received the least. In the day of the Gospel’s writing, Mark was
attempting to illustrate a lesson to the house of Israel: the God
of the covenant expected the greatest faith from the house of
Israel, but often received the least. This is a good source for
reflection on our part, we who are Jesus’ followers today. For
the wisdom of Christ to continue and for our lives to be seen as
signs of his power, he must expect and be able to find great
faith among us. Will he? Can he? Does he? Or is he, once
again, amazed by its absence?
This week’s second collection is
for Parish Obligations to the Diocese.
Next weekend’s second collection is designated
for Higher Energy and Utility Costs.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
Sunday, July 5th, the first Sunday of July is dedicated to the
Divine Mercy when we gather at our Basilica at 3:00pm for the
recitation of the Chaplet followed by Benediction. We are all
in dire need of God’s goodness, love and mercy. All parishioners and friends are asked to set aside an hour on this special day
to ask our Lord for his needed graces in our lives.
St. Vincent de Paul Society Message - In today’s Gospel
people ask: “How is it such miraculous deeds are accomplished
by his hands?” Because of your gift to the Society many
“miraculous deeds” are accomplished for the poor.
Please put a gift in the St. Vincent de Paul poor bin, (in the
Emmaus Center) knowing that through your kindness someone
who is suffering will be touched by God in a miraculous way.

NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
We ask parishioners and friends to join us on Wednesday,
July 8th at 7:00pm for our weekly devotion and novena to our
Patron. St. Joseph is known as the patron, protector and provider to all classes of Christians--particularly to the poor and to
religious communities, to families of laborers, of the sick, of
the poor, of the rich (to help them distribute their possessions
charitably and to help them attain the riches of Heaven), of the
suffering and travelers to name just a few.
We all require the assistance of St. Joseph for our personal
wants. The Knights of Columbus will be in attendance to carry
the St. Joseph statue from the Our Lady of Czestochowa Chapel
to the Sanctuary. Please note your intentions on slips provided
in the Chapel to be read during the devotion. We welcome your
offerings.
FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO
What are your plans for Friday night July 10th? You and
your family and friends are invited to join us for Friday Night
Bingo in the St. Joseph School cafeteria. Doors open at 5:00pm
and games begin at 6:45pm. We serve a varied menu of light
refreshments including pastries and free coffee.
Every week we hold a special progressive game which increases in value until we declare a winner. Please join us for an
enjoyable evening of camaraderie.
Members of the St. Anne Society will be on hand to assist
our players.
Lost phone– did you lose your Samsung phone during our
festival last weekend? It was found in the St. Joseph School
kitchen and can be retrieved at the rectory.
ST. ANNE SOCIETY - is beginning their Annual Membership Drive this weekend. The membership of this society
pledges to serve God and to participate in the mission of the
Church by taking an active part in the spiritual functions at St.
Joseph Basilica.
St. Anne Society is enrolling the newly baptized into the care
of St. Anne. Pictures of the baptized child are placed in a special book with vital information and placed at the altar of our
Blessed Mother. The Society prays for the individual to enjoy
God’s blessings.
We ask parents to peruse the book to make certain that your
child’s information is included. We ask all ladies to become
members, but especially new mothers and grandmothers.
If you would like to become a member of our organization,
please call Diane Gajewski at (860)935-5755 or Genevieve
Lariviere at (508)943-1781.
TIPS FOR A HAPPY MARRIAGE
Communication is not automatic-but it is vital to a good marriage and good communication takes time, patience and practice
to develop. Family history, temperament, gender, personality
and experience all impact a couple’s communication patterns
and couples need to take time to understand these factors and
patterns. As a couple’s schedule becomes more crowded by
jobs, kids and responsibilities in and outside of the home, it can
become easy to overlook time for communication. Make some
time to talk—and listen—daily.
1-25 Club Update - the next Banquet will be held on Saturday, September 12th after the 4:00pm Mass in the school hall.
This is the 14th week and payments are due now and will not
be collected the evening of the Banquet. Therefore, payment
must be made in advance prior to the Banquet. Weekly prizes
will be paid only when dues are paid in full. Please contact
your Captain to make payment or enclose your check or money
in an envelope marked 1-25 Club and place it in the collection
basket at Mass.
Thank you for your cooperation and looking forward to seeing everyone at the Banquet.

- Theresa L. Wanger, Co-Chairman

KRONIKA PARAFIALNA
CZTERNASTA NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA
5 lipca 2015
„Wystarczy ci mojej łaski. Moc bowiem w słabości się doskonali” (2Kor 12, 9)
Ludziom wierzącym, żyjącym w zgodzie
z przykazaniami,
czasem
może
się
wydawać, że są wystarczająco dobrzy
i gorliwi. Jest to naturalne, że dotykając
granic naszych własnych możliwości,
stwierdzamy, iż lepszymi już się nie
staniemy.
uzdrowienie i przemianę serca. Prośmy dziś o wiarę, byśmy mogli
zaznać mocy, jaką niesie Dobra Nowina.
KORONKA DO MIŁOSIERDZIA BOŻEGO
Wszyscy potrzebujemy Bożej dobroci, miłości i
Miłosierdzia. W czasie letnim, kiedy mamy niejednokrotnie
Zaprośmy naszych bliskich i
przyjaciół do lepszego zgłębienia tajemnicy miłosiernej
miłości naszego Zbawcy.
Page 5
NOWENNA DO ŚW. JÓZEFA
Zapraszamy wszystkich parafian oraz czcicieli św. Józefa
na naszą środową Nowennę do naszego Patrona. Św. Józef
jest szczególnym Patronem, gdyż przewodzi i patronuje
wszystkim Chrześcijanom, szczególnie zaś wspiera ubogich
wspólnoty religijne, zamożnych, ucząc ich jak mądrze
zarządzać dobrami ziemskimi, tak by zgromadzić skarby
w niebie, pomaga cierpiącym, podróżującym oraz wielu
innym grupom społecznym.
W najbliższą środę w procesji z figura św. Józefa idą
Rycerze Kolumba.
BINGO
Nie masz planów na najbliższy piątkowy wieczór?

tygodnia do wygrania nagroda „progressive”, której wartość
wzrasta, aż do wylosowania zwycięzcy.
Serdecznie zapraszamy.
ZNALEZIONO TELEFON
W czasie Festiwalu został znaleziony na terenie kuchni
telefon marki Samsung. Można go odebrać w biurze
parafialnym.

z kluczowych elementów, aby to szczęście osiągnąć. Dobra
komunikacja wymaga sporo czasu, cierpliwości oraz praktyki.
Historia
rodziny,
temperament,
płeć,
osobowość
i doświadczenie mają wpływ na komunikacje w związku
i potrzeba jest czasu, aby zrozumieć w jaki sposób wpływają
one na wzajemne zrozumienie w konkretnej parze. W miarę jak
codzienne obowiązki, opieka nad dziećmi i inne zajęcia
i codziennie słuchaj.
PARAFIALNA LINIA MODLITWY
