Stewardship Note: “For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters. But do not use this freedom as an opportunity
for the flesh; rather serve one another through love.” We like to
celebrate the fact that we are free to “live the good life.” But
Jesus calls us to a different kind of freedom. St. Paul reminds
us that Jesus sets us free so that we can serve one another, share
our gifts and promote God’s work here on earth to glorify His
name and not honor ourselves.

“No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind
is fit for the kingdom of God.”— Luke 9:62
FOCUS ON THE MISSION
“There are so many things to do.”
“We have so little time.” How many
variations of these statements have you
heard or even said yourself?
Actually neither statement is completely true. There are many things to
do in this life, but really few things that are vitally important.
Working, searching, conniving, and worrying our way to
“gratifying the desires of the flesh,” as Paul relates in today’s
second reading, are really non-productive. So little time? When
we take on the freedom that Christ offers us, we have all the
time we need in this world, and even more in the next. Elisha,
the prophet Elijah’s chosen servant, was slightly befuddled
about what he should do. When Elijah called, he returned to bid
farewell to his parents and provide food for his people. Only
then did he follow.
Jesus demands something different, something more of his
disciples. He calls us to a single-minded determination to drop
everything and follow him. Now, not later.
The second collection this weekend is for the Peter’s Pence
Collection to help the Holy Father to support victims of disaster, war, oppression and for those most in need of assistance.
Next week’s second collection is designated
for our Higher Utility and Energy Costs.

SOLEMNITY OF SS PETER AND PAUL, APOSTLES
On Wednesday, June 29th, we will observe the Solemnity of
the martyrdom of SS Peter and Paul. The celebration is of ancient origin and is one of the higher ranking holy days during
the ecclesiastical year, but is not a holy day of obligation. On
this day at the Vatican, newly appointed Archbishops receive
the primary symbol of their office, called pallium, from the
Pope.
Day of Indulgence - on this day, St. Joseph Basilica has the
privilege to grant indulgences to the faithful. A plenary indulgence may be obtained only once a day under the usual conditions, which means reception of Communion, confession if
needed, a visit to our Basilica and prayer in the intention of the
Holy Father. A partial indulgence may be obtained as many
times as you visit the Basilica and pray for the intention of Pope
Francis.
FIRST FRIDAY
First Friday adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take
place after the 7:00am Mass on July 1st and continue throughout the day concluding at 3:00pm with the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy followed by benediction. Adorers are asked to attend at their scheduled time. Mass will also be celebrated at
7:00pm in the Polish language.
Please note: All members of the Sacred Heart Society and
parishioners are cordially invited to join us at the 7:00am mass
which is designated for all living members of the Society.
Jubilee Year of Mercy
Yet again in Ordinary Time, Jesus seems to demand extraordinary commitment. A would-be disciple enthusiastically volunteers to follow Jesus “wherever”. Jesus replies that
“wherever” means “nowhere to rest his head”. To other candidates, Jesus brusquely denies reasonable requests to fulfill family obligations, declaring that discipleship demands total commitment—now! But Jesus also demands that we not judge how
others respond. When James and John volunteered to “call
down fire from heaven” to destroy an unwelcoming town, Jesus
“turned and rebuked them”. All violence of any kind is completely unacceptable among Jesus’ disciples, a lesson this Jubilee Year of Mercy is teaching the Christian community once
again. Paul’s challenge to the Galatians and us reinforces Jesus’
decisive command to James and John that they express their
commitment to him through compassion for others. We must
abandon the violence of “biting and devouring one another”
choosing instead to “serve one another through love.”
Partners in Charity Appeal - for 2016 is continuing. If you
have already contributed (183 gifts) received, Thank You. If
not, we ask that you consider a gift or a pledge at this time to
take up the joyful call to mercy to see hearts altered and lives
changed in our diocese by your goodness and generosity.
What we give out of the abundance we have received will be
truly appreciated. Pledge cards are available in the pews.
SUCCESSFUL FESTIVAL XLIII
This past weekend our parish community all joined hands
and came together to create three days of camaraderie, friendship and fun to benefit our St. Joseph School.
We had volunteers from the parish and from outside our community, parents of school children, Faculty, Sr. Jeanne, Sr.
Valenta, Sr. Mary Ann, alumni of SJS, Confirmation Class,
current students from grades 4 and up, Boy Scouts, and Children of Mary each doing their part to help make this festival a
big HIT!
The Steering Committee and Chairpersons set a fine example
with their dedication and time, not only over the weekend but in
the weeks and months leading up to the Festival. Thank You to
our General Chairperson, John Gasparik and his assistants,
Artie Hunt, Leah Williams and Cindi Gardner. We applaud
Ewa Mamro, Beth Boudreau, Mike Hackenson, Dave Harelson,
Marlene Proulx, Betty Sabaj, Peter Sirard, Keith Strong and
Ken Yash. We are grateful to Father Gregory, Eddie Rosario
and Craig Holmberg for leading the grounds crew and kitchen
prep, this past week.
To all chairpersons, to all those who were not visible to the
public and worked behind the scenes, volunteers and festivalgoers - THANK YOU - for making this event such a success.
We are grateful to parishioners who filled the pastry booth
with delicious baked goods and fudge, to all who donated to the
special gifts booth, including a hand made quilt, who brought
spirits for the wheel barrow of cheer, for their usable treasures
to our garage sale and for the “good sports” who were “dunked”
for the benefit of St. Joseph School.

NOVENA AND DEVOTION TO ST. JOSEPH
We invite you to join us for our weekly Novena and
Devotion to our Patron on Wednesday, June 29th at 7:00pm.
This is an opportunity for us to pray to St. Joseph for his spirit
of love and devotion toward members of our family and to
surround our loved ones with his powerful protection.
Our Eucharistic Ministers will carry our Patron’s statue into
the sanctuary. You may note your requests on the intention
forms to be read during the novena.
Icon of the Divine Mercy –is at the home of John and Lynn
Marsh this week so that family members may ask to be
embraced by His mercy during their lifetime or other specific
requests.
You may also bring the Icon into your home to pray the
Chaplet for your special needs. Please call the rectory to set a

Bóg Ojciec, powołując nas do
życia, zaopatrzył nas w przeróżne
talenty. Przygotował dla każdego
człowieka jedyną i niepowtarzalną
drogę;
jeśli
nią
pójdziemy,
odnajdziemy satysfakcję i szczęście.
Bóg jednak nie narzuca nam swego
planu. Kieruje do nas zaproszenie i cierpliwie czeka na naszą
odpowiedź. Sam jest wierny i oczekuje wierności także od nas.
Obyśmy decyzję pójścia za Nim potraktowali na serio, jako
zobowiązanie na całe życie. Nie oglądajmy się w życiu wstecz,
ale kroczmy odważnie drogą przygotowaną przez Pana.

UROCZYSTOŚĆ APOSTOŁÓW PIOTRA I PAWŁA.
Na najbliższa środę przypada Uroczystość św. Apostołów Piotra
i Pawła. Jest to jedno z najważniejszych świąt w roku liturgicznym.
Nie jest to święto obowiązkowe, nie mniej jednak zapraszamy
i zachęcamy wszystkich parafian do udziału we Mszy św. tego
dnia, zwłaszcza że w naszej parafii zbiega się ono z cotygodniową
Nowenną do św. Józefa.
Odpust – Uroczystość św. Apostołów Piotra i Pawła to również
możliwość uzyskania odpustu, który z tej okazji jest przypisany do
Bazyliki św. Józefa. Odpust zupełny można uzyskać raz w tym
dniu po spełnieniu następujących warunków: przyjęcie Komunii
św., spowiedź w razie konieczności, pobożne nawiedzenie Bazyliki
oraz modlitwa w intencji Ojca Świętego. Odpust cząstkowy
można uzyskać wielokrotnie w ciągu dnia pod warunkiem
pobożnego nawiedzenia Bazyliki i odmówienia modlitwy
w intencji Ojca Świętego.
PIERWSZY PIĄTEK MIESIĄCA

Najświętszego
Sakramentu
rozpocznie się, jak co miesiąc, po Mszy św. o godz. 7:00, która
będzie odprawiona z prośba o błogosławieństwo dla wszystkich
członków Sacred Heart Society. Adolracja zakończy się Koronką
do Miłosierdzia Bożego o godz. 15:00.
Msza św. po polsku o godz. 19:00 a pół godz. Przed Mszą
możliwość spowiedzi.
PARTNERS IN CHARITY
Tegoroczna zbiórka ciągle trwa. Dziękujemy z całego serca tym,
którzy już złożyli swoje ofiary. W sumie 183 osoby z naszej parafii
przyłączyły się do Apelu w tym roku. Nie mniej ciągle potrzeba
jest dalszego zaangażowania parafian, abyśmy mogli zebrać
żądaną od nas sumę. Bardzo prosimy, tych, którzy jeszcze nie
złożyli swojej ofiary, aby rozważyli uczynienia tego tak szybko jak
to możliwe. Nie jest to jedynie kwestia wywiązania się
z zobowiązań, ale przede wszystkim pomoc potrzebującym
i organizacja zadań związanych z kształceniem i formowaniem
tych, którzy teraz i w przyszłości będą tworzyć i umacniać Kościół
Chrystusowy.
Bóg zapłać za wszystkie ofiary już złożone i te, które dzięki
Waszej wspaniałomyślności wpłyną na ten zbożny cel.
NOWENNA DO ŚW. JÓZEFA
Zapraszamy wszystkich do na cotygodniową Nowennę do
św. Józefa połączoną z Mszą św. wotywą do Miłosierdzia Bożego
na godz. 19:00.
Figurę św. Józefa w procesji będą nieśli Szafarze Eucharystii.
WSPANIAŁY FESTIWAL
W ubiegły weekend nasza wspólnota parafialna połączyła
wysiłki, aby w duchu przyjaźni i współpracy przez trzy dni
zorganizować wspaniały Festiwal ku radości odwiedzających gości
i dla wsparcia szkoły św. Józefa.
Wolontariusze z parafii i z poza niej, uczniowie i ich rodzice,
nauczyciele, siostry Felicjanki, absolwenci naszej szkoły, grupa do
Bierzmowania, Skauci i wielu, wielu innych dzięki wytężonej i
ciężkiej pracy uczyniło tegoroczny Festiwal ogromnym sukcesem.
Na szczególną uwagę zasługują członkowie komitetu
organizacyjnego, którzy dawali wszystkim wspaniały przykład
poświęcenia, nie tylko w trakcie festiwalu, ale również na wiele
tygodni przed nim. Dziękujemy John Gasparik i jego
współpracownikom, Artie Hunt, Leah Williams oraz Cindi
Gardner. Wdzięczność wyrażamy również Ewie Mamro, Beth
Boudreau, Mike Hackenson, Dave Harelson, Marlene Proulx,
Betty Sabaj, Peter Sirard, Keith Strong i Ken Yash. Za
przygotowanie i organizowanie grupy pracującej przy
przygotowaniu terenu Festiwalu i kuchni dziękujemy Eddie
Rosario, Craig Holmberg.
Nie możemy w naszych podziękowaniach pominąć również
wspaniałych parafian, którzy dostarczyli pyszne ciasta, ofiarowali
rzeczy na sprzedaż w Yard Sale i Specjal Gift Booth oraz
zaopatrzyli Wheel Barrow of Cheer.

w szkolnej kafeterii.

Józefa. Godziny otwarcia sekretariatu szkolnego w okresie
