ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME June 14, 2015 Stewardship Note: When each parishioner is living his or her role as a disciple of Jesus Christ, the parish will experience spiritual and financial growth needed to carry out the Church’s mission. Saint Paul argues that our experience of God’s trustworthiness thus far should make us a people of undaunted courage and unshakeable faith. But at the same time Paul warns that faith should also make us aware of our responsibility to do good as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. CORPUS CHRISTI REFLECTIONS Last Sunday, we displayed a public tribute to the Blessed Sacrament by processing from our Basilica to the Emmaus Center. I am profoundly grateful to the many people who understand the meaning of being a disciple of Christ and the obligation of evangelization. I appreciate the people from our parish, Sacred Heart Parish and St. Andrew Bobola Church, the First Communion Class, as well as last year’s class, Children of Mary, Altar Servers, Parish Ministries and Boy Scouts who joined us on this perfect sunny day. Small children in national costumes who were scattering flower petals added dignity to this occasion. Thank you to the choir members who decorated the First Altar and Fr. Gregory for controlling the sound system. May God reward all the participants. This week’s second collection is for Higher Utility & Energy. Next weekend’s second collection is designated for the Catholic Communication Campaign Page 3 PARTNERS IN CHARITY Through the generosity of our parishioners we are pleased to announce that we have collected $26,517 and therefore surpassed our 2015 goal of $25,000. Even more surprising, this donation will be used toward the Athletic Program to develop a $90 million facility. Congratulations to Holy Cross College.
