Feast of the Holy Trinity. "The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit
that we are children of God, and if children then heirs, heirs of God and
joint heirs with Christ... "(Romans 8" 16-17) If we are heirs to the kingdom
of God, should we not work to build up that kingdom? Should we not be
good stewards of our inheritance, using our time, talent and treasure to
care for the Church that God has left to us? Our Church is a treasured
heirloom from God. Do we treat it that way?
THE MOST HOLY TRINITY - June 7, 2009
Go .... and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit. - Matthew 28:19
The Responsibility of Our Faith.
Today is a day simply to ponder the fact
that in baptism we were claimed by God, Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit. The first reading from Deuteronomy prompts
us to fix in our hearts the truth that God is the Lord of both
heaven and earth and there is no other god. Saint Paul
reminds us that, because we received the spirit of adoption
in baptism, we are now children of God. In the Gospel Jesus
charges us with the responsibility to make other disciples.
These realities make today's solemnity a day of praise,
adoration and responsibility, to thank God for the absolutely
free gift of faith that we were given in baptism. It is a day
to ask God for strength to take on the responsibility of
sharing that faith with others.

CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2008!!!
Today at the 4 p.m. liturgy eight students of
Saint Joseph School will offer their thanks to
God for successfully completing a milestone in
their education. Graduation day is a celebration
of academic accomplishment, a true beginning
of the rest of their lives, and a time to
commemorate the friendships they have
formed. Congratulations and best wishes to the
following: Daniel Gago, Aaron Holmberg, Matthew Huberdault,
Dominic Iwanski, Eric Marsh, Dawid Ochocki, Blair Reilly and
Nicole Tetreault. After years of formation, lovingly provided by
their teachers, our students move on to high school.
The final weeks of school at SJS were filled with meaningful
events. On Friday, May the school held a Parent Appreciation
Night at the PAV. Each eighth grade student read a thank you
testament to their parents. All enjoyed a delicious dinner followed
by dancing.
On Wednesday, June 3rd, the seventh grade class served a special
graduation luncheon to the graduates. The students were joined by
the SJS faculty. On Friday, June 51l, the eighth graders enjoyed a
farewell assembly. All grades gave a good-bye tribute to the
graduates and presented little gifts to them.
To complete the school year, the graduates will gather at St.
Joseph Rectory for lunch with Monsignor Tony on Tuesday, June
9 " to reminisce and share social time.
DIVINE MERCY DEVOTIONS

IN THE MAIL..................
I want to share with you a short note received at the Basilica this
week: "As aformer student of Saint Joseph School I would like to give
something back to the school. I appreciate the strong Catholic values
that were instilled in me while attending Saint Joseph's. I currently
work as an engineer and believe that a strong math and science
education is vital if today's students are to become engineers. Please
accept my gift of $500.00 and use it for the math and science
departments. " (Signed) Dariusz Szwarc, Naperville, IL.
What better testimony of the value of Catholic education and St.
Joseph School is needed?
